- ranch dressing
- crushed corn flakes
- crispy fried onions
- cooking spray
How to make Onion Ranch Chicken
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a rimmed baking sheet with tinfoil and cooking spray. Set aside.
Rinse and pat your chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Set aside.
In a medium sized bowl pour your ranch dressing. Set aside.
Crush and thoroughly combine cornflakes and crispy fried onions. We usually do this in a large re-sealable bag and a rolling pin. Ken uses our "kitchen hammer"! He loves using tools!
At your workstation, dip your piece of chicken to coat in the ranch dressing.
Next, take your coated chicken breast and press it into the crispy fried onion mixture until totally covered in crumbs. You can either drop your coated chicken breast into your large bag with the crumbs and shake until your chicken breast is totally coated in crumbs or you can place your crumb mixture on to a plate and press your coated chicken breasts into the crumbs until totally covered.
Once coated and covered in crumbs place your chicken breasts on to your prepared baking sheet.
Repeat this process with all of your chicken breasts.
When all of your chicken breasts are coated, place baking sheet in your oven for 40-45 minutes or until juices run clear and chicken is cooked.
Enjoy!

Tammy McDonald says
2 cups of ranch dressing seems like a lot for 4 chicken breasts.
Karin and Ken says
It is true you may have some leftovers but depending on the size of the chicken breasts you may need it. You can always start with less and add more if needed. I also try and coat the chicken breasts with as much dressing as possible because I enjoy it so much on the chicken! I will update the instructions! I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to comment. This chicken is delicious. I hope you try it and enjoy it as much as we do! Take care and all the best. Karin
Ariana says
Hi, could you use just the French onions and dry ranch seasoning instead of the dressing ? Thank you
Karin and Ken says
First I have to apologize for the delay in my response. It was unavoidable. That being said you have a couple of options. You could use an egg or melted butter to moisten the chicken. Then add the crispy fried onions to your crushed corn flakes or panko or breadcrumbs. Add about 2 tablespoons, if not 3 of the ranch seasoning to the crumb mixture and you should be good to go! Please, if you have a moment, let me know what you thought of it. I would love to hear! Take care and all the best. Karin
Tiddley says
can these breasts also be stuffed with cheese, ham and/or asparagus?
Karin and Ken says
Definitely! You are only limited by your imagination! Stuffing your chicken would only make it taste better! The only thing about asparagus is I would either make it short enough it fits inside the chicken or if not put tinfoil over the asparagus ends that stick out from the side of the chicken. Please if you have a moment let me know what you did and whether you enjoyed it! I would love to hear. Take care and all the best. Karin
