Ken introduced me years ago to this Crispy Onion Honey Mustard Chicken and I have to tell you it tastes great. The flavors blend perfectly together. Honey, Mustard and Crispy Fried Onions. You cannot go wrong. Really.
You can cut the chicken into strips or nuggets as well and watch them disappear! I usually make some extra honey mustard for dipping but it is definitely not necessary. Kids and adults alike will enjoy this Crispy Onion Honey Mustard Chicken recipe!
As soon as my husband Ken introduced me to these crispy fried onions I started using them in so many things, especially chicken dishes. I have listed a few below just in case you are interested in having a look.
Our video for Crispy Onion Honey Mustard Chicken is below! Check out how easy it is to make! I believe you will be glad you did!
Crispy Onion Honey Mustard Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless, chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3-4 tblsp dijon, hot or yellow mustard
- 2 1/2 -3 cups French's fried onions or equivalent, crushed
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine honey and mustard in a small bowl that will hold a chicken breast. Feel free to adjust the ratio depending on personal taste. I always try a little before I dip the chicken in. You should too! Set aside.
Pour the onions into a resealable bag and with a rolling pin or kitchen hammer break up the onions. The smaller the pieces the better as they will stick to the chicken. Dump on too a dinner plate and set aside.
Prepare a foil-lined baking sheet with a rack sprayed with cooking spray.
Coat the breasts with the honey mustard mixture. Then dredge them in the onion crumbs, and place them directly onto the rack. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until juices run clear. Enjoy!
