Hello and welcome! I’m Karin, and alongside my partner in life, Ken, we are the Kitchen Divas!

From the moment we met, we've been attached at the hip—and heart. And to keep life extra interesting, we've always shared a love for food, flavor, and creativity in the kitchen. After years of experimenting (and taste-testing!), we’ve gathered our best recipes into one cozy corner of the internet—this one right here.

At Kitchen Divas, our goal is simple: to help you make delicious, homemade meals without the stress. Because we believe mealtime should be something you look forward to—not something you dread.

Our recipes have been featured in Parade Magazine, Cosmopolitan, and The Greatist, just to name a few!

Whether you're here for everyday meal inspiration or just love scrolling through drool-worthy dishes, we're so happy you found us. Not sure where to start?Check out some of our fan-favorite recipes like these best beef ribs (seriously fall-off-the-bone good), a copycat Taco Bell chicken chalupa that tastes just like the drive-thru classic, and our fun, nostalgic drumstick cake—yes, like the ice cream cone, but cake-ified. Let’s get cooking!

    Fun Facts About Us

    • Karin is the main mess-maker, baker, writer, and photographer. Ken handles all things barbecue and any shellfish dishes (since Karin is severely allergic!).
    • We live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada—home to some amazing restaurants, but we still love cooking at home most.
    • Karin has Multiple Sclerosis and uses a wheelchair, but she doesn’t let that stop her from doing what she loves: creating in the kitchen. Listen to Eat, Blog, Talk episode 446 to discuss how I manage a chronic illness while running this blog from my home!
    • We’re self-taught food lovers—no formal training, just lots of enthusiasm (and trial and error)!
    • Our friends and family are our trusty taste testers, and they never hold back with their honest feedback.
    • In March 2022, we became grandparents to the most precious little guy—and yes, we’re completely smitten.

What You’ll Find on Kitchen Divas

Our recipes are adapted and inspired by decades’ worth of magazines, cookbooks, newspaper clippings, and family favorites—modernized and simplified with love. We include detailed instructions, step-by-step photos, and sometimes videos so you know exactly what you’re making.

We’re also big believers in flexibility. Want to swap an ingredient or add your own twist? Go for it! We only share the recipes that have truly worked for us, so you can cook with confidence.

We’ve got comfort food classics like our hearty and oh-so-satisfying easy hobo casserole, plus family favorites that come together fast in the slow cooker—like this cheesy, flavor-packed slow cooker Mexican corn casserole. Looking for lighter, speedier meals? Try our crisp and golden air fryer haddock for a healthier spin on fried fish night or whip up a batch of mashed potato fries that are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside (and, yes, totally addictive).

Planning a party or just feeling snacky? We’ve got appetizers for that—like carnivore meatballs that disappear almost as fast as you can make them. And for dessert lovers, don’t miss our rhubarb cookies—a sweet-tart twist on a classic treat that's perfect for spring and summer.

This is just a small taste of what we’re cooking. You can explore our full recipe collection here to find even more inspiration for every occasion, craving, and skill level.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    What inspires your cooking?

Karin’s grandmothers, who were both incredible cooks. Their legacy lives on in everything we make. In many ways, they’re the original Kitchen Divas.

Do you use fresh or prepared ingredients?

Mostly fresh, whole foods—think butter, cream, eggs, veggies, and meats. But we’re not food snobs! Sometimes convenience wins, so we’ll toss in a can or pre-made item when it helps speed things up without sacrificing flavor.

    Can beginners use your recipes?

Absolutely. You don’t need to be a trained chef or know fancy cooking terms. Our recipes are straightforward and encouraging, whether you’re just getting started or looking to expand your go-to meals.

Where do your recipes come from?

We pull from a 40+ year collection of cookbooks, magazines, and family recipes. Many have been tweaked and tested over and over—only the best make it to the blog.

    How do you develop recipes?

We experiment—a lot! When something turns out amazing, we photograph it, write it up, and share it here as soon as we can. We also always credit original sources when we can track them down.

Thank you so much for stopping by Kitchen Divas. This site is a labor of love, built from years of cooking, laughing, and making memories in the kitchen.

We hope our recipes bring joy to your table and make you feel like you’ve got a couple of kitchen buddies cheering you on. Whether you’re planning dinner for your family, whipping up dessert for a party, or just craving something cozy, we’re so glad to be part of your cooking journey.

From our kitchen to yours—happy cooking, and don’t forget to savor every moment. 💕
