Sweet Italian Chicken is a three ingredient recipe, including the chicken, that is so simple and so delicious. My friend insisted I try it years ago so I did and I still make it regularly. I always have Italian dressing and brown sugar on hand and so do most of us so in a pinch this recipe always comes in handy!

Most of the time when I make this Sweet Italian Chicken I get it ready to marinate in the morning so by the time I come home, ready to eat, all I have to do is bake the chicken!  I wish all great recipes were that easy!

The tasty glaze on the chicken breasts makes this Sweet Italian Chicken recipe absolutely perfect for salads and the reality is you can literally serve this chicken with anything and everything you have on hand!  Depending on the season or your mood you have so many options!

If this chicken dish isn't for you I have listed some others below you just might want to have a look at.  You can never have too many chicken recipes.  Hopefully you will enjoy them as much as we do!

Ken, my husband, turns the barbecue up high, sears the chicken quickly and then turns the barbecue down and allows the chicken to cook on the upper rack.  He makes the juiciest chicken breasts I have ever had on the barbecue!

There are so many varieties of Italian dressing that all will work beautifully with this recipe for Sweet Italian Chicken.  Just grab your favorite variety and away you go.  Your dinner preparation will be over in minutes!

    Ingredients in Sweet Italian Chicken

    • brown sugar
    • Italian dressing
    • chicken breasts

How to make Sweet Italian Chicken

Rinse chicken and pat dry with paper towels. In a small bowl combine the Italian Dressing and the brown sugar. Mix well.

Place chicken breasts in a large resealable bag.  Pour dressing mixture in to the bag with the chicken breasts.  Adjust chicken breasts until they are totally coated and remove as much air from the bag as possible.  Place in your refrigerator to marinade for a few hours or overnight.

When you are ready to bake your chicken preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a baking pan with tinfoil and cooking spray. Place chicken breasts in your prepared pan.  Discard extra marinade with the bag.

Place chicken in your oven. Bake for 40-50 minutes, depending on the size of your chicken breasts. Sometimes I flip the chicken over once or twice while it is in the oven or I baste it with the juices in the pan.  Most often I just leave it for 45 minutes and broil it for a minute or two right before removing it to serve.  Once you see some dark spots it is time to remove it from the oven and serve!  Enjoy!

You will find our video for Sweet Italian Chicken below.  I couldn't help but make one just so you can see how simple this chicken dish is to make.  Now all you have to do is try it so you can see how tasty it really is!
