What a topic I'm going to talk about today folks, and that is...butter...in fact, fall butter recipes. What could be said about butter you ask? Well, there's a great deal in fact and I'm about to share a bunch of it with you.

By the end of this post, you'll understand the what, where, why, and how's of butter...in fact, you'll be a self-proclaimed butter expert!

    The History of Butter

Back in ancient Africa...dating back to 8000 B.C., there was a sheepherder who unknowingly created the first form of butter when his sheepskin container full of sheep's milk got curdled on a trip he was making.

The milk was strapped to the back of one of the sheep and got shaken during travel and the warm milk turned into what we would now consider butter.

Although back in 2000 B.C., archaeologists found a limestone tablet illustrating how our ancestors were first making butter, as I stated above, it dates back thousands of years earlier.

Derived from the Latin word butyrum, it was used in ancient Rome for medicinal purposes. It was used to treat aching joints and swallowed for sore throats. While in India, its clarified version has been offered to Krishna for 3000 years.

Now, while butter can be made from sheep, yaks, goats, and buffaloes (in some areas of the world), the most commonly found one is made from cow's milk. It is separated milk fat that gets churned until just the right consistency is found.

So that's a little bit about butter history, let's move on to fall butter recipes...
