Why use vinegar in pancakes
Using vinegar in pancakes is what helps make your pancakes fluffy. Sometimes, I like to use baking powder to cause my pancakes to fluff up but using vinegar gives you an even better fluff to your pancakes.
How to reheat homemade pancakes
To reheat homemade pancakes, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then place the cold pancakes on a parchment lined baking sheet and pop them in a warm oven. This will heat up your pancakes without over cooking them. Or you can reheat your homemade pancakes in your toaster or toaster oven.
Another way to reheat pancakes is in the air fryer. To do that, I would recommend that you warm up the air fryer to 400 degrees and then place your pancakes in for about 2-3 minutes.
Can I freeze holiday pancakes?
If you are wanting to freeze homemade pancakes, I would recommend freezing them cooked. To freeze your pancakes you will need to lay the pancakes out flat and stack layers with wax paper between each pancake. Using the wax paper will help you pull out individual pancakes from the freezer.
When reheating frozen pancakes there is no need to thaw first. All you need to do is follow the reheating instructions above and 2 or 3 minutes to your reheating time.
Can you make pancakes without eggs
Yes, I suggest using this egg replacer to replace your eggs! It’s perfect for vegan pancakes too!
What is activated charcoal
Activated charcoal is a black powder that has been ground to a fine powder. This black powder is made from sawdust, olive pits, coal, peat, coconut shells, and bone char.
Is activated charcoal safe to eat
Even though the list of ingredients for the activated charcoal doesn’t sound appetizing, it is safe to eat. An important note to remember is that activated charcoal is safe and is used in hospitals for certain types of poisoning.
Can I taste activated charcoal in these halloween pancakes
I did not notice a taste of activated charcoal in these halloween pancakes but your results may vary. I’ve used activated charcoal in several recipes and I never tasted it.
What color icing is best for halloween pancakes
Any flavor or color of icing will work great on your Halloween pancakes. For example, you could either use black icing for a creepy spider web look, orange icing to make pumpkin pancakes, green icing to make witch’s hat pancakes, etc.
What should I serve with Halloween Pancakes
For my family, we like to make these pancakes with a fruit smoothie. However, you can serve your Halloween pancakes with just about anything you would normally pair with regular pancakes.
Here are few ideas to serve with your pancakes
- bacon
- sausage
- eggs
- toast
- cut up fruit
- omelets
- strawberry syrup for a “blood” topping.
How do I know when a pancake is ready to flip
When you are cooking your pancakes, keep an eye out for bubbles on the top of the pancake. Once the pancake stops bubbling you can safely flip your pancake. I like for the bubbles to pop and start to sink in, then I know that my pancake is ready to flip.
