This Pecan Honey Butter is perfect for any type of bread. I love on it on pancakes and biscuits. The options are endless for this delicious butter made with maple syrup or honey, roasted pecans and butter.

This Pecan Honey Butter is perfect for any type of bread. I love this pecan butter on pancakes and biscuits. The options are endless for this delicious butter.

You can even switch out the honey in this butter and use maple to make a pecan maple butter instead. No matter if you choose to make honey butter or maple butter, you will fall in love with this creamy and sweet spread.

Have you ever ordered the skillet cornbread at Smokey Bones? It comes with a side of this delicious honey pecan butter. Their honey pecan butter is loaded down with flavorful pecans and a sweet butter.

It is oh so delicious on the skillet cornbread. My mouth is watering this just thinking about it.

I’ve always been a huge biscuit fan. I love the buttery and flaky texture from homemade biscuits. When I decided to duplicate this honey butter recipe, I just knew that I had to try this creamy and sweet butter on top of my favorite breakfast item.

I slathered this pecan butter on top of a batch of homemade buttermilk biscuits right out of the oven. Let me tell you I gobbled that biscuit down so quickly. It was amazing. I think I’m going to keep a batch of this pecan maple butter in my fridge at all times.

How long can I store pecan butter

Your homemade pecan butter can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks. The trick to make sure this pecan butter recipe stays fresh is to keep your butter sealed. You have options for this.

You can place your butter in a mason jar, or a plastic storage container. If you want to get really fancy, roll your butter into a log and wrap the log in wax paper. Then you can just slice your butter off like you would a stick of butter.

Then you will have perfect maple pecan butter coins to put on top of pancakes, waffles, french toast, cream cheese biscuits or whatever your heart desires.

Can I freeze pecan maple butter

Yes, you can freeze pecan maple butter or pecan honey butter. To freeze your pecan butter, be sure to wrap your butter tightly. I wrap my butter tightly in parchment paper in a log shape.

By rolling your pecan butter into a log shape you can slice your butter easily. Once I have my butter into a log, and wrapped in parchment paper, I place the parchment paper in a freezer bag.

Lastly, I store the pecan maple butter in the freezer for up to 3 months. Be sure to date your parchment paper so you can be sure when you put your pecan butter in the freezer.

How do I sweeten this butter

When you are making pecan honey butter, you will use the honey to sweeten your butter. I love the fresh taste of honey. When I am making pecan honey butter I like to use local honey. I mean why not support a local farmer while I am feeding my family?

If you decide to make maple pecan butter, maple syrup is what will sweeten your butter. No matter which butter you make or sweetener you use, you will love this fresh tasting nutty butter.

Why do I need to toast pecans for this recipe

Toasting the pecans for this butter recipe works in two different ways. First of all, by toasting your pecans before you put them in the butter you are giving your pecans a much better flavor.

This really helps your pecan butter taste amazing. The second reason for toasting your pecans before adding them to your honey or maple butter is to prevent your pecans from going rancid quickly.

Roasted pecans also makes them softer which makes the texture of this butter perfect for spreading.

Can I use candied pecans instead of toasted pecans

Yes, you can absolutely use candied pecans instead of toasted pecans. I love the crunch and sweet spicy flavor of candied pecans. I will make a batch and munch on them for a few days.

If you find yourself making a batch, or buying one at a local fair then using them to make this honey pecan butter is a perfect match. Using these candied pecans are bound to the take of your honey maple butter up a couple notches.

My husband prefers to use candied pecans because he LOVES all things sweet. In my opinion you can't go wrong with either with this pecan butter recipe but I would try using plain roasted pecans first.

See what you think and adjust from there.
