Salmon Sliders are delicious, versatile mini sandwiches that pack amazing flavor and will impress family and friends as an appetizer, lunch, or light dinner recipe option.

Salmon Slider being held in the air.

This was inspired by my old fashioned salmon patties recipe and smoked salmon cakes on this site. It pairs well with this list of what to serve with salmon patties.

Why You Will Love This Recipe

    • This recipe only requires a few ingredients, making it easy to make.
    • These sliders are totally customizable so use your favorite sauce, seasonings, herbs, or other toppings to make these sliders your own.
    • Whether you're hosting a family party, BBQ, or simply a weeknight dinner, these sliders are the perfect party food for people to grab while on the move.

    Ingredients

This easy recipe could not be easier.

All of the ingredients needed to make Salmon Sliders.
    • Olive Oil - Or your favorite vegetable oil will work just fine.
    • Salmon Fillets, skinless and boneless - Use fresh salmon fillets, if possible, rather than canned salmon, for best results. Canned salmon will definitely work in a pinch.
    • Salt and Pepper - Perfect flavor enhancer.
    • Sweet Hawaiian Rolls - Traditional slider buns or small dinner rolls will both work well.
    • Asian Style Chopped Salad Kit - Use a coleslaw (cabbage) mix of choice with coleslaw dressing or a chopped lettuce salad covered in your favorite dressing with tomatoes, peppers, cucumber and onions instead, if preferred.

See the recipe card below for the exact quantities of each ingredient.

    Substitutions and Variations

Don't have the correct ingredients on hand? Or want to change something up? Here are some helpful tips for you to change this salmon slider recipe.

    • Low Carb: Instead of bread use lettuce wraps, hollowed-out tomatoes or zucchinis instead.
    • Spicy: Add a bit of chili pepper flakes, diced jalapeno pepper, homemade hot pepper sauce, our jalapeno powder, smoked jalapeno powder, or chipotle powder to the salmon mixture for a bit of heat.
    • Season or Marinate Salmon: Use your favorite marinade to flavor salmon as you like before cooking or add paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder or lemon pepper.
    • Add a Sauce: Use a lemon garlic aioli, bacon aioli, wasabi aioli, homemade tzatziki sauce, Kraft tartar sauce copycat recipe or any of our best dip recipes for any occasion. There's lots of great ideas in there.
    • Pan Fry, Air fry or Grill Salmon: Cooking the salmon in a pan, using air fryer frozen salmon or on a grill will provide the best results for your sliders, as they stay moist and flaky.
    • Toppings: Add toppings like capers, dill, chives, green onions, cilantro, parsley, bacon, thinly sliced tomatoes, your favorite lettuce, sliced cucumber, avocado or red onion.

Here are some kid friendly salmon recipes that will have them begging for more.

    Storage

Here's how to store these mini sandwiches.

    Refrigerator:

Store leftover, cooled sliders wrapped individually in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and placed in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.

    Freezer:

Wrap each slider individually in plastic wrap, followed by a layer of aluminum foil. Place the wrapped sliders in a freezer-safe, airtight container or resealable plastic bag for up to 2 months.

When you're ready to eat, take out of the freezer and let them thaw in the refrigerator overnight. You can reheat your sliders in a preheated oven at 350°F for approximately 15 minutes or heated through.

    Reheat:

To reheat, you can also use a toaster oven, air fryer, or microwave.

    Make Ahead:

To save time you can pre-cook the salmon and prep the toppings ahead of time. However, assemble the sliders just before serving to ensure the buns stay fresh and don't become soggy.
