This Buffalo snack mix packs a punch of big, bold flavor in every bite. A blend of Cheez-Its, rye bagel chips, Goldfish, pretzels, and Buffalo sauce comes together to create a crunchy snack full of cheesy, spicy goodness.

Whether we make S'mores snack mix for a dessert or sweet treat, or ranch snack mix for movie nights or parties, snacks like these are always at the top of our minds for any special occasion.

We're adding another savory mix to our rotation with this Buffalo snack mix. We've taken the zest flavor of our easy Buffalo chicken drumsticks and packed it into the crunchy blend for a snack that has everyone coming back for more.

Why You Will Love This Recipe

    • Few Ingredients: You'll only need six ingredients to make this mix.
    • Easy: Gently mix everything and enjoy!
    • Big, Big Flavor: The combination of Goldfish, Cheeze-Its, bagel chips, pretzels, and Buffalo sauce creates a wonderful snack.
    • Perfect for Any Occasion: Serve this mix for movie nights, gameday parties, cookouts, or any event.

    Ingredients

Just hit two or three aisles at the store, and you'll have everything you need for this recipe.

Ingredients to make Buffalo snack mix on the table with labels to identify each one.
    • Pretzels: Add a wonderful salty crunch to your snack mix.
    • Cheez-Its: Use regular or spicy Cheez-Its instead.
    • Goldfish: Use your favorite flavor. We prefer cheddar cheese.
    • Rye Bagel Chips: Use any kind you desire. Our air fryer bagel chips are also an option.
    • Buffalo Sauce: Use your favorite storebought (We use Buffalo Wild Wing) or a mix of hot sauce, melted butter, garlic powder or ranch seasoning. Our vegan buffalo sauce and McDonald's Buffalo sauce copycat are also worth a try.

See the recipe card below for the exact quantities of each ingredient.

    Variations

    • Mix-Ins: Try adding Takis, Hot Cheetos, Flamin' Hot Doritos, or Spicy Nacho Doritos for an extra kick.
    • Nuts: Add roasted almonds, peanuts, cashews or pecans for more flavor and crunch.
    • Sweet and Spicy: Add a little maple syrup, brown sugar, or honey to the buffalo sauce mixture to add sweetness or cayenne for more heat.

You can use these homemade Cheez-Its instead of store bought (I think they're actually better).

How to Make Buffalo Snack Mix

Just a little mixing and 5 minutes in the oven is all it takes to make this. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

All the ingredients in a bowl with buffalo sauce on top ready to be mixed.

Step 1 Blend: Combine all the dry mix ingredients in a bowl. Then, add the Buffalo sauce and gently fold until everything is evenly coated.

Step 2 Bake and Cool: Spread the snack mix out on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes, then let the snack mix cool for about 10 minutes, or until it's cool enough to touch. Serve.

    Recipe Tips

    • Careful: Use a gentle folding motion with a spatula to blend and coat the ingredients, helping to prevent them from being crushed.
    • Cool Time: Let your mix cool completely before eating it. This allows the coating time to set and dry.
    • Room Temperature: Store for up to five days in an airtight container or resealable bag at room temperature. Perfect for snacks and school lunches.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I make it in the microwave instead of the oven?

Yes! Similar to traditional Chex mix, you can microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring in between each, though not recommended as baking gives the best overall crunch and flavor.

Is this Buffalo snack mix hot?

This Buffalo snack mix is as hot or as mild as you want it to be. For a hotter mix, use a spicier Buffalo sauce. Choose a mild sauce for a mix with very little heat.
