Ingredients
The ingredients listed below are what I like to use for this fun Halloween snack mix recipe. It includes the melts and chocolate to coat the cereal, as well as mix-ins to complete the mix.

- Candy melts and chocolate: I use yellow and orange candy melts to keep the Halloween/fall theme. Feel free to use green instead of yellow to make it extra spooky. I also use some semi-sweet chocolate chips for a rich flavor. You may use dark or milk if you prefer.
- Mix-ins: So, it wouldn't be Chex Mix without Chex cereal, so I use that, along with pretzels and candy corn. It's a great sweet and salty mix, and the candy corn is perfect for fall.

How to Make Halloween Chex Mix
Here are the steps needed to prepare this Halloween party mix recipe. It's mostly mixing everything together, so it's really easy!

Step 1: Melt the candy and chocolate. Add the candy melts and chocolate chips to three separate bowls and heat them in the microwave until smooth.

Step 2: Coat the Chex. Divide the Chex cereal between each of the bowls and lightly coat them. Then, toss them in powdered sugar, and place them in the fridge for about 30 minutes to set.

Step 3: Add the remaining ingredients. Pour the Chex into a larger bowl with the remaining mix-ins.

Step 4: Toss and serve. Gently toss it and enjoy!
Recipe Tips
- Storage directions: You may store your Chex mix at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week in an airtight container.
- Let the Chex cool long enough: After coating the Chex in the melted candy and chocolate, allow them enough time to cool. The instructions say to keep it at least 30 minutes in the fridge. You can also leave them on the counter for about an hour, too.
- Use a large enough bowl: When mixing all the components, make sure the bowl is large enough to prevent the ingredients from breaking up too much.

Recipe FAQs
I like to work quickly while the melted candy is still warm. It will seize as it cools, which is normal. If you want it to be a little smoother, add a teaspoon of coconut oil.
Sure! It's a little more work, but you can use melted white chocolate and add some liquid or gel food coloring to get your desired color and vibrancy.
