How to Make Fluffernutter Muddy Buddies

This easy no-bake snack comes together in just a few simple steps and is perfect for making with kids.

Step 1: Melt and fold Chex. Melt your chocolate chips in a large mixing bowl in the microwave. Melt them for 30 seconds at a time, stirring after each interval.

Add the rice Chex to the mixing bowl. Gently fold the cereal and chocolate together until evenly coated.

Step 2: Coat and chill. Toss the chocolate covered cereal in the powdered sugar. Once the cereal is fully coated in powdered sugar, chill it for about 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to set before adding the mix-ins.

    Expert Tips

    • Store properly: Keep muddy buddies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or in the freezer for up to 2 months. They're perfect for making ahead.
    • Perfect the coating: Melt the chocolate slowly, stirring every 30 seconds, then gently fold in the cereal until evenly coated without crushing it. Allow the chocolate to cool slightly before adding the powdered sugar for the best coverage.

    • Customize and share: Add your favorite candies, nuts, pretzels, or sprinkles, and consider making a double batch because this sweet snack disappears quickly.
