Substitutions and Variations
While I love this recipe as it is, you can try different ways to make it stand out even more.
- Toast the Bun: I don't know why but a toasted bun makes any sandwich over the top delicious. Just be careful that you don't burn the bun while broiling inside the oven.
- Add More Toppings: You can add tomatoes, bacon, caramelized onions, pickled onions, mushrooms, avocado, or fried eggs to customize your burger.
- Spicy: Add a few drops of our homemade hot pepper sauce to your burger meat. You can also replace dill pickles with spicy pickles and add some hot sauce to the secret sauce.
- Make it a Double or Triple: Make more hamburgers and serve your sliders with a double or triple patties.
- Big Mac Sub: Grab a couple submarine buns and build your sliders on it instead.
- Big Mac Hot Dog: Exactly the same as a burger but build it on a hot dog instead.
- Big Mac Salad Recipe A low carb or gluten free option is to serve your Big Mac burger on a bed of lettuce, without the bun and have a Big Mac salad. If making yourself a salad you'll need to double the secret sauce recipe.

Storage
Refrigerator: These sliders are best enjoyed freshly made. It's best to plan ahead if you know you will have leftovers and leave off the sauce, pickles, and lettuce. Store leftovers in an airtight container or covered with plastic wrap for three days in the refrigerator.
Freezer: It's not recommended to freeze fully assembled sliders, as the quality of the ingredients may diminish when thawing. Instead, consider freezing the cooked beef patties separately and assembling the sliders when you're ready to serve them.
Reheat: To reheat, wrap the sliders in aluminum foil and warm in the oven at 325°F for about 10-15 minutes or heated through. If you prefer to microwave, wrap each slider in a damp paper towel and heat on a microwave-safe plate for 30 seconds to 1 minute each.
Make Ahead: Prepare the sliders and sauce separately and store them in the refrigerator until you're ready to assemble and bake the sliders. This will keep the flavors fresh and the bread from becoming soggy. It's best to prepare the individual components ahead of time and then assemble the sliders right before serving.

FAQ
For those of you that don't know, Big Macs are hamburgers sold by the international fast food giant McDonald's. They've been around since 1968 and these burgers have always been one of the most popular items on their menu.
Big Macs contain two beef patties covered in Big Mac sauce, inside a three-layer sesame seed bun with shredded iceberg lettuce, pickles, diced onion and a slice of American cheese.
You bet. Ditch the bun and you'll knock out a ton of carbs right there. This simple act will immediately make your dish a lower carb option to help you stay on track. Use a lettuce wrap to hold your burger. Another fun idea is to create a Big Mac salad instead of a sandwich.
Big Mac sauce includes mayo, sweet pickle relish, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and kosher salt. Big Mac sauce has long been thought of as a modified version of Thousand Island dressing, but in reality it is a modified French dressing.
