    What are cabbage rolls?

Cabbage rolls, also known as stuffed cabbage or holubtsi in Ukrainian cuisine, are a traditional dish usually made with ground beef and/or pork mixed with rice and wrapped in cabbage leaves.

Depending on the region, they can be served boiled, baked, or slow-cooked. When properly prepared and cooked, these tasty rolls have a soft, tender texture and a delicious flavor.

How do you typically make them?

Cabbage rolls are typically made by boiling cabbage leaves until they're pliable enough to fill with ground beef and/or pork filling. The filling is then rolled up inside the cabbage leaves and cooked either on the stove or in the oven.

Depending on preference, you can also add other ingredients such as rice, onion, garlic, dill, and spices before wrapping them in the cabbage leaves.

Or you can make a variation...something like our slow cooker cabbage roll stew. I assure you that it's quite tasty!
