These Sweet Krispie Bars are an easy and yummy treat for any occasion. Or, truth be told, no occasion at all! They never last that long and are best served at room temperature! They are chewy and so delicious! We love topping them with Heath or Skor bits but in a pinch we have used white chocolate chips, M&M’s or smarties. My best friend even puts coconut on top and that is the way she loves these fabulous little or big treats! You are only limited by your imagination!

Sweet Krispie Bars
- 1-2 tablespoons butter for greasing
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 6 cups Rice Krispies
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- ½ cup Heath or Skor bits
- Grease a 13x9 inch pan with butter and set aside. Combine sugar and syrup in a saucepan, over medium heat, until bubbles. Remove from heat and pour into a large mixing bowl. Add peanut butter. and stir until blended. Add Rice Krispies. Stir until totally coated. Press into your prepared 13x9 inch pan. Set aside.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat or a double boiler. Add chocolate and butterscotch chips and stir until melted. If using a saucepan do not leave unattended. Stir constantly or mixture will burn. Once melted pour over top of the pressed krispie mixture in the pan. Sprinkle Heath or Skor bits all over the top. Allow to cool. Cut into squares and serve.
