Fruity Pebbles Rice Krispies treats combine two delicious treats into one super treat. Delicious Fruity Pebbles cereal takes the place of the Rice Krispies in this recipe to create a fruity version of a famous classic.

I've been a Fruity Pebbles lover since I was a kid. I'm also a long-time Rice Krispies treats lover. AS I got older, I never lost my love for both, so I thought why not put them together? Trust me. It was a success.

    Fruity Pebble Rice Crispy Treats

This was inspired by my other Fruity Pebbles recipe on this site. I figured if I could make Fruity Pebbles work with a layer cake, I could definitely make them work with Rice Krispies treats. It turns out I was right.

    Ingredients

If you're looking for something simple, you came to the right place. It only takes three - THREE - ingredients to make these delicious treats.

ingredients needed to make fruity pebbles rice krispie treats.
    • Fruity Pebbles cereal
    • Mini marshmallows
    • Softened butter

See the recipe card at the end of the post for quantities.

How to Make Fruity Pebbles Rice Krispies Treats

If you thought the ingredient list for this recipe was easy, just wait until you actually make it. It is absolutely one of the easiest things you will ever make in your life.

Step 1: Prep and Melt the Marshmallows

Butter and marshmellows added to a large mixing bowl.
Melted marshmallow mixture poured onto the cereal.

Add the marshmallows and butter to a medium-large microwave-safe mixing bowl and microwave on high at 30-second intervals, mixing in between each interval until the mixture is completely melted. Pour the hot, melted marshmallow mixture over the cereal and stir until combined.

Step 2: Add to Baking Dish and Set

Cereal mixture pressed into baking dish.
Squares cut on 3 individual plates.

Spoon the cereal mixture into the baking dish and press down until smooth and even. Top the mixture with more mini marshmallows, pressing them into the top of the treats. Let the treats set for at least three hours or for one hour in the refrigerator. Then, cut into 8 to 12 pieces.

Hint: Run extremely hot water over your knife before cutting out the squares to help make it easier to cut through the gooey mixture.

    Storage

You can keep these treats in an air-tight container at room temperature for about two days. You can also freeze them for up to six weeks.

    Tips

This is one of the easiest recipes you'll ever make. However, even simple recipes can be made better if you're in the know. I have a couple of tips to help you make the best treats possible.

    • Remember to work fast. The key to thoroughly mixing your treats is to mix everything while it's nice and hot - and THIN. If your mix begins to set up, it's going to be difficult to mix.
    • Stir often when you're melting your marshmallows. If left in one place on direct heat for too long, they'll scorch.
