Grinch Rice Krispie treats pops will make your heart grow three sizes! These delicious Rice Krispie pops are coated in chocolate for a sweet and adorable holiday treat everyone will love.
One of my favorite holiday movies is How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and one of my favorite treats any time of year are Rice Krispie treats, so I thought it made perfect sense to put them together.
Rice Krispie Pops
This was inspired by my other Christmas recipe on this site. My Christmas Oreos were so good covered in chocolate, I just knew that the same treatment would work with Rice Krispie treats.
Ingredients
The ingredient list for this recipe couldn't be simpler. It only takes four ingredients to make these tasty treats!
- Rice Krispie treats
- Vibrant green candy melts
- Coconut oil
- Large red heat sprinkles
See the recipe card at the end of the post for quantities.
Instructions
Making these tasty treats is just as easy as the ingredient list. Because you're using pre-packed Rice Krispie Treats, you'll have next to no cooking to do at all.
Step 1: Prep
Place your sucker stand on a hard surface like a baking sheet. Then, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Prepare the Chocolate
Place the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave bowl and cook on high, stirring every 30 seconds until the candy is melted. Then, add the coconut oil and stir until fully combined.
Step 3: Put Rice Krispie Treats on Sticks
Dip the sucker sticks about half an inch deep into the chocolate and then slip the sticks into the middle bottom of each Rice Krispie treat.
Step 4: Dip the Treats
Chill the Rice Krispie Treats for about five minutes. Place the chocolate into a tall cup and dunk each treat about ⅔ of the way into the chocolate.
Step 5: Chill
Remove each treat from the cup, lightly tapping the bar end of the stick to even out the chocolate. Then, place the treats in the sucker stand and chill until hardened.
Step 6: Decorate
Place the remaining chocolate into a frosting bag and snip off one corner to make a small hole. Lay the pops flat onto your prepared tray and use the frosting bag to drizzle the remaining chocolate over the pops and immediately add a heart sprinkle.
Step 7: Final Chill
Return the treats to the refrigerator to chill until hardened. Enjoy!
Hint: Be sure to chill your Rice Krispie Treats between each step so the chocolate will stick and harden to the surface of the treats.

- Add the coconut oil to the melted chocolate and stir until fully combined.
- Pour chocolate into a tall, heat resistant cup. Dip the sucker sticks into the melted chocolate (about half an inch is good).
- Then slip the sticks into the middle bottom of each rice krispie treat.
- Place the rice krispie treats on the prepared baking sheet and chill for about 5 minutes.
- Place the melted chocolate into your tall cup and dunk each treat about ⅔ of the way into the chocolate.

Notes
- If your chocolate seems thick while dipping, add more coconut oil and reheat for a few seconds. This will help thin it out and make it easier for dipping.
- Be sure to use a cup or dish wide enough to accommodate the size of the rice krispie treats. However, don’t make it so wide that your chocolate doesn’t go deep enough for dipping.
- If your chocolate drizzle dries too quickly for your heart to stick, simply add a bit of the leftover melted chocolate to the bag of each heart and then add it to the treat.
- I like cutting the tip of the bag at a 45-degree angle. It makes it easier for drizzling.
- When drizzling, you want to partly go down both sides of the treat, but don’t go all the way down to the pan or you’ll end up with spikes out the side of your treats.
- You can make your own rice krispie treats for this as well! I would make the treats about 3 inches by 2 inches when cutting them to size.
