I love S'mores on a Stick almost more than traditional S'mores. I don't have to wait for a warm summer night to roast marshmallows-I can enjoy them all year. They take only 15 minutes to prepare, and then you have a rich chocolatey treat to devour.

The marshmallow is fully enrobed in melted chocolate and then rolled in graham cracker crumbs. I put them on skewers to make them less messy to eat, too! It's so easy to double the recipe for party guests or if you have a craving.

    Why You'll Love This Recipe

    • It's only 3 ingredients: Just like with classic s'mores, all you need are marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers. They are just used differently for making s'mores pops.
    • It's inexpensive: This is the perfect budget-friendly sweet treat. You don't need to spend a lot to indulge a little.
    • It's great anytime: You can make s'mores marshmallow pops any time you want. You're not limited to the summer for this dessert.

    Ingredients

With just 3 ingredients, you can enjoy this delicious s'mores on a stick recipe. Don't forget the skewers!

Ingredients for making easy s'mores on a stick laid out on a wooden board.
    • Marshmallows: I use regular or jumbo marshmallows, depending on what I have on hand or what I can find. You can't use mini marshmallows with a skewer!
    • Hershey's bar: I love the nostalgic Hershey's milk chocolate flavor so that's what I use for melting chocolate.
    • Graham crackers: You use graham cracker crumbs or just crush the graham crackers yourself. This will be used to coat the chocolate-dipped marshmallows.

See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.

    Variations

    • White chocolate: Swap milk chocolate for white chocolate for an extra sweet and rich version.
    • Caramel toffee: coat the marshmallows in toffee bits instead of graham crackers and drizzle caramel sauce for the best of sweet and salty.
    • Nuts: Chopped pecans and walnuts would make a great crunchy coating for s'mores kabobs.

How to Make Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows on a Stick

In just 4 steps, you will have tasty s'mores kabobs to eat. To get started, grab a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper so it's ready for the prepared marshmallow on a stick.

Step 1: Skewer the marshmallows. Place one marshmallow onto the end of each skewer.

A marshmallow on a stick is dipped into a bowl of melted chocolate.

Step 2: Melt the chocolate and dip. Grab a microwave-safe bowl and add the Hershey bars. Heat them in 20-second intervals, stirring in between each one, until the chocolate is smooth. Then, dip each marshmallow in the melted chocolate.

Step 3: Coat them in graham crackers. Have your crushed graham crackers ready in a separate bowl. Dip the bottom half of each marshmallow immediately following the chocolate.

Step 4: Chill and serve. Place them on a prepared baking sheet and pop them in the fridge for just a few minutes or until the chocolate hardens. Enjoy!

    Recipe Tips

    • Add coconut oil to the chocolate: Stir in about 1 teaspoon of coconut oil into the melted chocolate to make it glossier and easier for dipping. You can use a little shortening instead if you have a coconut allergy.
    • Try an edible stick: Make these chocolate-dipped marshmallows on a stick using an edible stick like a candy cane for the holidays or a pretzel rod.
    • Use quality chocolate: Hershey's chocolate is the way to go for a traditional s'mores flavor. If you go with another kind, don't use lower-quality stuff. It will make a difference in texture and flavor.
    • Storing: Store them in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Once set, you can lay them to the side and wrap the pan with plastic wrap or aluminum foil.

    Serving Suggestions

    • Enjoy a warm beverage like cinnamon hot chocolate or McDonald's caramel mocha with your s'mores kabobs.
    • Make a real s'mores party by enjoying some BBQ like these hot dog burnt ends.
    • Kit Kat ice cream cones are a great pairing with marshmallows and chocolate.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I melt the chocolate with a double boiler?

Sure! Add the chocolate to a heat-safe glass or metal bowl. Place it over a pot of hot, simmering water. Stir until melted!

    Can I freeze them?

I don't like the texture of the marshmallows when frozen, so I recommend that you place them in the refrigerator.

    Can I toast the marshmallows?

Sure! Use a torch to toast the exposed portion of the marshmallows to bring more of that recognizable s'mores flavor.
