Instructions
This Texas toast cheeseburger recipe comes together quickly by partially baking the toast, topping it with seasoned beef and cheese, then finishing until bubbly and golden. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

Place Texas toast slices on the baking sheet. Bake for 5 to 6 minutes or until lightly golden but not fully crisped.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, dried minced onion, salt, and pepper. Break apart the beef as it cooks until browned and no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.
Drain excess grease from the pan and remove from heat.
Spoon cooked ground beef evenly over the toasted side of each Texas toast slice.

Top each with a generous handful of shredded cheddar cheese.
Return the toasts to the oven and bake for 3 to 5 more minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
Drizzle Big Mac sauce over the top of each toast.
Finish with a sprinkle of shredded iceberg lettuce or your favorite burger toppings and serve immediately.

Recipe Tips
- First Bake: Don't fully crisp the toast, bake just until lightly golden.
- Second Bake: Return to oven until cheese melts and bubbles. Don't overbake. For extra crisp edges, broil briefly, if desired, just watch closely to avoid burning.
- Best Melt: Use freshly shredded cheese.
- Adding toppings: Right before serving add lettuce and any other toppings you want to include.
- Avoid soggy toast: Drain grease well before topping bread.
- Spread evenly: Distribute beef evenly so each toast has even bites.
- Make a Sandwich: Toast another piece of Texas toast and make a sandwich easy to pick up.
- Storage: Store leftovers for up to 2 days and reheat in oven, toaster oven or air fryer to crisp. Add sauce and toppings after warmed. Freeze beef mixture only for up to 2 months.
