- It's quick and easy: You'll only need to spend about 20 minutes of hands-on time for this bark recipe. Your fridge will do the rest!
- It's just 4 ingredients: All you need to make this Oreo bark is two types of chocolate, Oreo cookies, and some festive sprinkles. So simple!
- It's inexpensive: The ingredients used for this recipe are also cheap, so you don't have to spend a fortune to enjoy a homemade sweet treat.
Ingredients
The only items you need for this Oreo chocolate bark are listed below. They are easy to find at any grocery store! The sprinkles are more of a seasonal item, though; I'd start searching for them after Christmas!

- Chocolate: This bark has a milk and semi-sweet chocolate layer and a white chocolate layer for contrast. If you like, you can use all semi-sweet to offset the richness of the white chocolate.
- Oreos: Regular or Double Stuf Oreos will work fine here. They just need to be crushed to add to the melted chocolate.
- Sprinkles: I use red, white, and pink sprinkles with cute hearts for Valentine's Day, but you can leave them off or use another theme if you want.
See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.
Variations
- Ruby chocolate Oreo bark: Try using ruby chocolate instead of semi-sweet to add a subtle red color to the bark.
- Oreo peppermint bark: Add ½ teaspoon of peppermint extract to the white chocolate to create mint Oreo bark.
- Golden Oreo bark: Use Golden Oreo cookies instead of original for a different flavor profile.
How to Make Oreo Bark
Here are the instructions you'll need for this Oreo bark recipe. Line a 10x15 baking sheet with parchment before you get started!

Step 1: Melt the semi-sweet and milk chocolate. Start by placing the chocolate into a heat-safe bowl and placing the bowl over 2 inches of water in a pot over a low boil. Stir until the chocolate melts.

Step 2: Spread and chill. Once melted, you can carefully pour the chocolate onto the prepared pan, spread it evenly, and pop it in the fridge for about 10 minutes.

Step 3: Melt the white chocolate. Next, repeat the melting step for the white chocolate and pour it over the chilled chocolate layer.

Step 4: Add Oreos, sprinkles, and chill. Spread the white chocolate, allowing some of the dark chocolate to peek through the edges. Then, scatter the crushed Oreos and sprinkles on top before chilling it for 30 minutes. Break and enjoy with a pink mojito or apple cider float when it's set!
Recipe Tips
- Use large Oreo pieces: I don't like to crush the Oreos until they are crumbs. The larger pieces are better for flavor and presentation, and don't sink into the chocolate like the really small pieces.
- Melt the chocolate gently: Be careful when melting the chocolate, and don't let the water vigorously boil because it could overheat the chocolate, causing it to seize.
- Cool the bark on the counter: If you like, you can let the bark cool on the counter before you put it in the refrigerator. This ensures the pan isn't hot when you chill the bark.

This bark is great to give the one you love on February 14th. If you're looking for other sweet treats to give them try my Valentine's Rice Krispie treats or perhaps these Valentine's Day sugar cookies. You could put them all in a bag, add maybe a couple of strawberry truffles and a couple of red velvet cake mix cookies. It's a romantic and creative way to say "I love you" and you'll definitely find yourself in the good books.
Storage Directions
- Storing: Once the bark is fully set, you can keep it on the counter in an airtight container as long as your kitchen is cool. Otherwise, it will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Freeze it for up to 2 months and thaw it overnight in the refrigerator, too!
- Make ahead: Since it takes some time to set, sometimes I like to make this Oreo bark a full day in advance. Then, it's ready to crack and serve to guests!
Serving Suggestions
- Use this Oreo bark as a pretty garnish for other desserts like this no-bake chocolate peanut butter pie or chocolate cream cheese pie.
- Take the Oreo experience over the top and serve a cold Oreo Frappuccino with the bark.
- Turn it into a whole festive sweet treat spread and include pretzel flowers and chocolate-covered blueberries.
Recipe FAQs
Either the chocolate overheated, or it cooled down before you poured it onto the sheet pan. Sometimes I like to add a tablespoon of coconut oil to keep it smooth before it sets.
Only if they're good quality. I find that making chocolate melts much better for this cookies and cream bark recipe.
Those streaks are normal from the cooling process. Keep the bark pieces in an airtight container, and that will prevent condensation and moisture, which will add more gray and white streaks.

Notes
- Opt for larger Oreo chunks to keep them from sinking into the melted chocolate, so you have a prettier presentation.
- If you find high-quality chocolate chips, you may use them instead of baking chocolate bars.
- The white or gray streaks on the chocolate come from condensation in the refrigerator. Once set, crack and move the pieces to an airtight container.
