This pink mojito is full of strawberry, lime, rum, and let's not forget - fun! This easy cocktail is perfect for backyard cookouts, pool parties - any summer occasion, really!

Nothing makes a party like a mojito. They're so festive, and they have such tropical flair. I love serving them at parties, especially during the summer, and this particular one is my favorite.

    Pink Mojito Cocktail

This pink mojito cocktail was inspired by my other chocolate mojito with mint recipe on this site, and pairs well with all of these amazing appetizer recipes.

Why You Will Love this Recipe

    • It's quick and easy to make.
    • It can be made up to 2 days before serving.
    • It's a delightful and refreshing drink for any occasion.

    Top Tip:

Muddling the mint leaves allows the oils to be released which helps bring out its flavor in your beverage. However, if you don’t have a tool specifically designed for muddling, you can simply rip or tear the mint leaves and stir them into the mixture.

    Pink Mojito Ingredients

You'll only need a handful of simple ingredients to make this cocktail, and they're all easy to get your hands on! See the recipe card at the end of the post for exact amounts.

    For the Mojito

    • White rum
    • Fresh lime juice
    • Ginger ale
    • Grenadine
    • Sliced strawberries
    • Fresh lime slices
    • Mint leaves

    For the Garnish

    • Fresh lime slices
    • Fresh strawberry slices
    • Mint leaves

    Substitutions and Variations

    • Rum - Light rum can be used instead of white rum. Any white rum will work here but avoid using spiced rum or coconut rum as it can mess up the flavor of your mojito.
    • Make a Virgin - Remove the rum and add more ginger ale or club soda
    • Make it Traditional - The ginger ale adds sugar and flavor to the drink, but if you’re looking for more of a traditional mojito use club soda and add ¼-1/2 cup sugar to the pitcher. Stir until dissolved.
    • Ginger Ale - Use club soda, sparkling water, tonic water or sparkling cider which will alter flavor somewhat.
    • Grenadine - use a simple syrup or flavored syrup such as raspberry, peach, mango, blackberry, cherry syrup or your favorite.
    • Strawberries - Use frozen strawberries if fresh aren’t available or add other fruits like pineapple, mango, watermelon, raspberries or blueberries
    • Lime - Use lemon, orange, or grapefruit slices instead
    • Fresh Mint Leaves - Use basil or rosemary instead

    Pink Mojito Instructions

This is a super easy cocktail to prepare, especially since it's made in one big batch. The highlights are here, but you'll find the exact instructions in the recipe card at the end of the post.

1: Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher, muddling the mint leaves before adding them.

Hint: Muddling the mint leaves allows the oils to be released which helps bring out its flavor in your beverage. However, if you don’t have a tool specifically designed for muddling, you can simply rip or tear the mint leaves and stir them into the mixture.

    Storage

Refrigerator: Store in a pitcher with a lid for up to 2 days.

Make Ahead: Add all ingredients except the ginger ale to a pitcher with a lid. Then, add the ginger ale when ready to serve.

    What to Serve with Mojitos

You can serve almost anything with them. The sweet, tropical flavor is perfect with seafood of all kinds, beef, chicken, pork, or appetizers. Of course, you can also just sip them by the pool!

    Tips

    • Choose a white rum that is not spiced or avoid coconut rum to keep the drink's traditional flavor.
    • Use a large pitcher to ensure you have enough room for all of the ingredients.
    • Let flavors combine by occasionally stirring while chilling in the refrigerator.
    • Add the ginger ale just before serving for maximum flavor, bubbles and sweetness.
    • Have a cutting board, knife, citrus juicer/squeezer, and long wooden spoon or cocktail stirrer ready beforehand.
    • Make sure all ingredients are chilled before mixing them together.
    • Use fresh limes to get the maximum flavor in your mojitos.
    • Garnish with mint leaves or slices of lime or strawberry on top of each glass as desired.

    FAQ

Can this recipe be made with any kind of rum?

Any white rum will work here. Light rum will too. Avoid using spiced rum as it can mess up the flavor of the mojito.

How do I make a strawberry-flavored pink mojito?

To make a strawberry-flavored pink mojito, simply add an extra ½ cup of strawberry puree to your drink after muddling the strawberries and before adding any other ingredients. This will give your cocktail a delightfully sweet and fruity flavor!

What type of glass is best for serving mojitos?

A tall Collins or highball glass is best for serving mojitos. This type of glass has enough room for the ice, rum, and other ingredients that are used in making a mojito.

Is it necessary to muddle the mint leaves?

Muddling the mint leaves allows the oils to be released which helps bring out its flavor in your beverage. However, if you don’t have a tool specifically designed for muddling, you can simply rip or tear the mint leaves and stir them into the mixture.
