Ingredients
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make this easy key lime shot recipe. Since the alcohol isn’t seasonal, you can make this recipe year round.
- Whipped cream vodka: I find that this is key in achieving the correct flavor. However, vanilla vodka will work in a pinch if you don’t have it or can’t find it.
- Rumchata: This rum liqueur is creamy with a subtle sweet flavor. It’s so good that I like to drink it alone! It adds the perfect taste to this shot.
- Lime: I add key lime juice with the alcohol ,and use extra to add the graham cracker rim. Use some lime zest and lime slices as garnishes for flair.
- Graham cracker crumbs: I like classic honey graham crackers because they taste more like a graham cracker crust. Just add them to a food processor to create fine crumbs.
See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.

- Lemon: Try this recipe with lemon juice instead of lime. It tastes like a lemon meringue pie!
- Non-alcoholic: Want to skip the alcohol? Make this key lime shot using coconut milk and sweetened condensed milk instead.
- Coconut: Try this recipe with a dash of coconut rum to give it delicious tropical vibes.
