A Royal Flush Shot is a delicious yet intense drink that’s amazing for parties or whenever you want. It may be bold but it has lovely sweet peach and tart cranberry flavors that balance each other perfectly. The Chambord adds black raspberry flavor with a subtle hint of warm spices that pair so well with the Crown Royal, too.

    • It’s customizable: There are so many different flavor combinations that you can create to make this drink your own! Don’t be afraid to get creative with it.It’s perfect for parties: I love making these at parties. They’re so yummy and fun to drink.

    Ingredients

These four ingredients come together to make these homemade shots! They’re easy to find at any liquor store!

Ingredients for Royal Flush Shot on a table.
    • Crown Royal: This whiskey is partly where this shot gets its name. It’s also known as the Crown Royal Flush drink. Feel free to use one of the other flavor varieties like vanilla or apple for an exciting twist.
    • Cranberry juice: I use sweetened cranberry juice for this drink. If you prefer, you may use unsweetened cranberry juice as is or sweeten it with some simple syrup. The choice is yours!
    • Peach Schnapps: This is similar to liqueur but with a slightly stronger taste. It’s still pretty sweet and has a prominent peachy flavor.
    • Chambord Liqueur: This is a black raspberry flavor that's the perfect mixture of sweet and tart. It plays well with the cranberry and peach.

See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.

    Variations

    • Cranberry apple: Try this recipe with Crown Royal apple and sour apple Schnapps for cranberry apple flavor.
    • Pineapple mango: Use pineapple Schnapps and mango juice for a deliciously tropical version.
    • Non-alcoholic: Make this a non-alcoholic drink by swapping whiskey for ginger ale, peach schnapps for peach juice, and then a fruity simple syrup in place of the Chambord.

How to Make a Royal Flush Shot

In only two steps, you can make a delightfully sweet and tart shot. It’s as easy as shake, pour, and drink!

Crown Royal, juice, Schnapps, and Chambord poured in a shaker.

Step 1: Combine the ingredients. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice and add the Crown Royal, juice, Schnapps, and Chambord. Shake it well!

Finished drink in a glass with sweet sugared cranberries.

Step 2: Pour and serve. Pour it in a strainer over your glass. Garnish with sweet sugared cranberries if desired and enjoy!

    Recipe Tips

    • Adjust to taste: This is an easy shot to adjust to your preferences. Do you want it bolder? Use more whiskey and less liquor. Want it sweeter? Add more juice or Schnapps!
    • Decorate the rim: Dip the rim of the glass in some cranberry juice or lime juice and sugar. This adds a fun and sweet flavor to enhance the experience.
    • Use quality ingredients: High-quality ingredients make better shots. Sometimes, that means not going for the cheapest item possible. If you enjoy the occasional cocktail, you know what I mean!
    • Storage directions: Prepare a larger batch up to 24 hours in advance and stick it in the fridge. Pour the mixture into shot glasses when you’re ready to serve.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I turn it into a cocktail?

Of course! Club soda makes a great base. It adds fizz but doesn’t overpower the flavors of the other ingredients.

Can I stir it if I don’t have a cocktail shaker?

A simple mason jar makes a fantastic replacement in a pinch. I recommend that you invest in a cocktail shaker if you plan to make more drinks at home.

How can I make the shot smoother?

Cold ingredients will make the shot much more tolerable. Pop them into the refrigerator before you make the shots to get them chilled.
