Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- It’s budget-friendly: This is a super cheap snack recipe. It’s a huge factor as to why I make them so often. Inexpensive yet delicious treats are my weakness.
- It’s versatile: Not only can you pop a couple of pretzels to satisfy your sweet tooth, but they work great added to other desserts and treats like ice cream or pie!
- It’s just 4 ingredients: It can’t get any simpler than 4 ingredients. I almost always have 3 of them in my kitchen, too.
Ingredients
This is all you need to make these scrumptious churro pretzels. It’s made with everyday ingredients you likely have on hand already, too!

- Mini pretzels: Those little bite-sized pretzel twists are my favorite to use for this recipe. The mixture coats them evenly, too.
- Butter: The main purpose of the butter is to help the cinnamon and sugar stick to the pretzels. It also helps them achieve a crunchy coating in the oven. I like to use salted butter for to balance the sweetness.
- Sugar: I use white granulated sugar to sweeten the cinnamon and to add a crispy texture to the coating. It works so well!
- Cinnamon: You can’t have churro-flavored pretzels without cinnamon! I use just enough to add warmth, sweetness, and a very subtle spice.
See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.
Variations
- Pumpkin spice: Swap the cinnamon for pumpkin pie spice to create an amazing fall treat.
- White chocolate: Add a healthy drizzle of white chocolate once it comes out of the oven for richness. Let it set and then enjoy!
- A spicy kick: Believe it or not cinnamon is great with a hint of some heat! Add a pinch or two of cayenne pepper along with the cinnamon when making the sugar and butter mixture.
How to Make Churro Pretzels
Here are the instructions on how to make this churro pretzel recipe. Preheat your oven 400° F so it can heat up while you get your pretzels ready.

Step 1: Make the butter mixture. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl and then stir in the sugar and cinnamon until all the ingredients are totally mixed.

Step 2: Coat the pretzels. Pour the mixture into a large bowl over the pretzels. Gently fold and toss the pretzels until they are fully coated.

Step 3: Bake. Spread them onto the baking sheet. Place them in the oven for about 10 minutes or until the mixture dries onto the pretzels!

Step 4: Serve. Finally, transfer them to a serving bowl once they’re cooled. Enjoy your sweet and salty snack!
Recipe Tips
- Let the pretzels cool: The pretzels will be very hot when they come out of the oven, so handle them with care. Give them about 5 minutes to cool on the sheet pan before transferring them to a platter or container.
- Try another pretzel shape: You aren’t limited to mini pretzel twists! Pretzel snaps or rods are great alternatives. Even pretzel sticks are great!
- Shake them in a Ziploc bag: To better coat the pretzels in the cinnamon sugar mixture, you may place them in a resealable bag and give them a good shake. This helps to evenly coat every pretzel.
- Storage directions: Store the pretzels in a Ziploc bag or an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Cut your butter into tablespoon size squares and melt in a microwave dish. Start with 20-30 seconds, stir the butter, and continue adding 10 seconds at a time until completely melted.
- Stir the melted butter together with the granulated sugar and cinnamon until homogenous. Pour the butter mixture over your pretzels and fold until the pretzels are evenly coated.
- Spread the pretzels out on a baking sheet that is at least 9x13 inches. Bake for 10 minutes.

Notes
- Store the churro pretzels in an airtight container or plastic bag at room temperature for up to 1 week.
