Jam vs. Jelly
Jam is made with the pulp and seeds of fruit while jelly is made with only juice, giving it a gel-like consistency. If you want to make a peach pepper jelly, blend and strain the peaches to extract the liquid before adding the diced jalapenos. Peach jalapeno jelly will have a similar flavor to peach pepper jam, just a different texture.
Why You’ll Love This Peach Jalapeno Jam Recipe

- Family favorite. Even the pickiest eaters love the balanced flavors of this recipe.
Ingredients
With just 6 simple ingredients you will have a simple but delectable jalapeno peach jam.
- Peaches: Make sure your peaches are nice and ripe before turning them into spiced peach jam. About 4-6 peaches, depending on size, should give you the 4 cups of diced peaches needed.
- Jalapenos: Finely dice the jalapenos so they can distribute well through the spicy jam. Remove the membranes and seeds to reduce the heat or leave some in for extra kick and texture.
- Lemon juice: The splash of tart lemon juice ties all of the flavors together. You can also use orange juice!
- Water: Adding some water to the jam will help achieve the correct consistency.
- Pectin: I recommend low or no sugar. Pectin is a thickener used in cooking and baking.
- Sugar: Even though the peaches are sweet, this recipe still benefits from the addition of sugar.
See the recipe card below for the exact quantities of each ingredient.
Variations
- Peach Habanero: Turn this into a peach habanero jelly recipe by trading the diced jalapenos for diced habaneros.
- Add Maple: Replace some of the sugar with maple syrup for a brand-new flavor profile. You can even use honey!
- Fresh Herbs: Adding a fresh herb will complement the sweet and spicy flavors. Try basil, rosemary, or mint.
How to Make Peach Jalapeno Jam
The steps required for this recipe are simple and quick. From start to finish it takes less than 10 minutes to prepare.
- Heat the peaches. Cut an X in each peach and cook in boiling water for just a few minutes then plunge them into cold water. You should be able to easily remove the peels once they cool.
- Dice the peaches and jalapenos. Peel the peaches and dice into small cubes. Finely dice the jalapenos.
- Add ingredients to saucepan. Combine all of your jam ingredients in a large saucepan.
- Boil. Bring the mixture to a boil and cool for two minutes. Remove from heat.
- Test consistency. Check the consistency by drizzling a small amount of jam onto a chilled spoon
- Transfer and cool. Once you achieve your desired consistency, portion the jam into jars and let them cool completely. Seal and store in the refrigerator. Enjoy whenever you want!

Ingredients
- 6 peaches about 4 cups peeled and diced
- 2 jalapeño peppers finely diced
- ¼ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
- ½ cup water
- 4 tablespoons powdered low or no-sugar needed pectin
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 4 cleaned and sanitized pint mason jars or 8 half pint jars with lids and bands
Instructions
- Peel the peaches. A quick and easy way to peel peaches is to bring a large pot of water to a boil and boil peaches for about 3 minutes, with an “X” carved in the bottom. Place in an ice bath afterwards and the skins should gently peel off.
- Dice the peaches into small cubes and mince the jalapeno as finely as possible.
- Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly.
- Continue cooking at full boil and stirring for two minutes. Then remove from heat.
- Check the consistency by placing a spoon in the freezer for 5 minutes. Remove the chilled spoon from the freezer and drizzle a small amount of jam on the spoon to check consistency.

- Store in the fridge for up to 3 months or in the freezer (in freezer safe containers) for up to 12 months.
- Notes to include in your blog post:
- According to google 1 peach makes about ⅔ cup peach cubes. For me, 6 peaches made 4 heaping cups. Basically, you want your reader to end up with about 4 cups of diced peaches to make the jam. This will vary depending on types of peaches.
- You can also put the jars in hot water for 10 minutes. Then take them out and let them cool. When they cool down, the lids will make a popping sound, which means they're sealed. Check the lids the next day to make sure they're tight when you press the center. If any lids are loose, keep those jars in the fridge.
