Hershey Kiss Pretzels are a sweet and savory dream! The chocolate is slightly melted on top of a salty pretzel for a poppable treat you can make for a crowd, or as a snack to enjoy for yourself. I use a combination of kisses and hugs for contrast, and the M&M's provide a festive touch.

    Why You'll Love This Recipe

    • It's ready in less than 30 minutes: It takes less than 30 minutes to prepare, bake, AND set these pretzel Hershey kiss treats. This is the perfect last-minute recipe!
    • It's only 4 ingredients: This recipe consists of only 4 ingredients: pretzels, kisses, hugs, and holiday M&M's. It's that quick and easy.
    • It's budget-friendly: The ingredients for this treat are great for a tight budget, too. You can enjoy tasty sweets without spending a fortune.

    Ingredients

All the ingredients you need for this pretzel kisses recipe are listed below. They are super simple, and most of them can be found all year!

Ingredients to make this dessert on a table.
    • Pretzels: I use the pretzel snaps. They hold the chocolate best! Any brand that you find will work great.
    • Kisses and hugs: I use both Hershey kisses and hugs for different flavors and presentation. Feel free to use all of one or the other!
    • M&Ms: The red and green M&M's fit perfectly onto the kisses, and they are wonderfully festive, too.

See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.

    Variations

    • Reese's: Instead of the M&M's, prepare these Hershey kiss pretzel bites with mini Reese's cups or Reese's pieces on top!
    • Peppermint kisses: Use peppermint kisses instead of the original for a festive twist.
    • Oreo: Top your treats with mini Oreos for crunch!

How to Make Hershey Kiss Pretzels

Before you get started on assembling these pretzels with Hershey kisses, line your baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat your oven to 200 degrees F.

Pretzel snaps arranged on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 1: Arrange the pretzels and kisses. First, arrange the pretzel snaps on the prepared baking sheet, and then place a kiss or a hug on top of each one.

M&Ms placed on top of each pretzel and chocolate.

Step 2: Bake and add M&Ms. Stick the pan in the oven for about 3-5 minutes. Then, after letting it sit for about a minute, place one M&M on top of each pretzel and chocolate. Allow it to set at room temperature or for 15 minutes in the fridge!

    Recipe Tips

    • Don't bake too long: Be careful not to leave the pretzel snaps with Hershey kisses in the oven too long. You don't want the chocolate to be fully melted, just softened so it sticks to the pretzel.
    • Fully set before serving: Allow your Hershey pretzels time to set fully before serving. This ensures that they aren't gooey or falling apart.

These sugar cookie blossoms also use Hershey's Kisses, making them even more amazing and tasty.

    Storage Directions

    • Storing: You can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 weeks or in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks (the pretzels may soften in the fridge). Freeze them with parchment paper layers for up to 2 months, but thaw them at room temperature.
    • Make Ahead: These Hershey pretzel kisses have a fantastic shelf life, so you can make them a couple of days in advance and keep them on your kitchen counter until you're ready to serve them. This makes entertaining a breeze!

    Serving Suggestions

    • I like to prepare this Hershey kiss pretzel recipe and put the pretzel kisses on top of iced gingerbread cookies or Nutella-stuffed cookies as a fun, tasty garnish.
    • Enjoy a hot seasonal beverage like a pumpkin chai latte or a pumpkin spice latte with a handful of Hershey's Kiss pretzels.
    • A savory treat to add to your treat table this year is Ritz cracker sandwiches, as they complement the sweetness of the pretzels.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I use mini twist pretzels?

Yes, you may, but I found that you need to be more careful when warming the chocolate. The holes are a little bigger than the snaps, so there's a higher chance of it oozing out of the bottom of the pretzels.

What do I do if the chocolate sets before I add the M&Ms?

Only give the kisses and hugs about a minute before you place the M&Ms on top. If the chocolate sets too quickly, pop the baking sheet back into the oven for another minute or so to soften the chocolate again.

    Can I add more decorations?

Sure! Some festive sprinkles would be a lovely touch. Just keep in mind that these are small treats, and there is not much that will fit on top of the pretzels.

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 200F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Arrange pretzels in a single layer. Top each pretzel with a Hershey's Hug or Kiss chocolate.
    • Bake for 3-5 minutes.
    • Remove from oven and let sit for 1 minute. Press an M&M into each chocolate.
    • Let chocolate set fully at room temperature or refrigerate for 15 minutes.

    Notes

    • Don't wait too long to add the M&Ms on top of the kisses and hugs, or they won't stick. Place the pan back in the oven for another minute or so to soften the chocolate, if needed.
    • Avoid baking the chocolate for too long, or it will fully melt and ruin the recipe.
    • Store them at room temperature rather than in the refrigerator to keep the pretzels crunchy longer.
