Air Fried Oreos Tips
Usually, this is the part where I go over the tips you'll need to make sure you make a great recipe. In this case, there really isn't much to say at all.
These air fryer Oreos are so simple to make, there's really no way you can mess them up. Unlike their deep fried counterparts, you don't have to worry about oil temperature, batter consistency, or any of the other things that matter so much to deep frying.
With these air fryer fried Oreos, the biggest thing you have to remember is to seal the crescent dough very well when you wrap up your Oreo. Other than that, just follow the recipe directions, and you'll do just fine.
Serving Air Fried Oreos
All you need to serve these delicious air fried treats is a plate and a bowl with maple syrup. That's it. These simple air fried Oreos are so good all on their own, they don't need anything else.
The powdered sugar covering the air fried dough works perfectly with the Oreo cookie inside, and it all melds into sweet perfection when you dip it in the maple syrup.
Variations
With a recipe this straightforward, there aren't a lot of variations to be made. However, there is one way that you can change up the flavor of these delicious treats. You've probably already thought of it. Change the Oreo!
I used classic Oreos for this recipe, but you can use any Oreo at all for a different effect. If you're a fan of that creamy filling, use a Double Stuff Oreo. You'll get a super thick air fried Oreo with a center bursting with that classic filling.
You can also try their other flavors like Golden Oreos, Mint Oreos, or the new Lady Gaga Oreos. Those things are delicious, just FYI.
Storing Air Fried Oreos
Air fried Oreos are best enjoyed immediately, but you can store them in the refrigerator in an air-tight container for 2 to 3 days. After that, they'll be too soft and soggy to enjoy as they've been drawing moisture into themselves.
Unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on how you look at it - these deep fried cookies must be eaten within 2 to 3 days. There's no way around it. Bummer, I know.
It's terrible to have to nosh away on these deep fried beauties. But seriously, you have to, and you can't freeze them.
FAQ
Before you get started, make sure you read over this FAQ. Again, this is a super easy recipe, so there's not a lot here, but what is here should be read to ensure that your air fryer Oreos come out as deliciously as possible and can be enjoyed as much as possible.
There are just a few points to remember, so don't worry.
Q: How long does it take to make these air fried Oreos?
A: It only takes about 17 minutes from start to finish. That includes prep.
Q: Why does your recipe use crescent roll dough instead of a dipped batter?
A: This is an air fryer recipe. It uses very little oil to cook. Because of that, a thin, dipped batter would just ooze all over the air fryer. Using dough affords a similar consistency that works in an air fryer.
Q: Can I use any crescent dough batter?
A: Absolutely. I use Pillsbury because I like the way it cooks up, but feel free to use any brand you want.
Q: My air fried Oreos are so dry! What happened?
A: You probably overcooked them. These Oreos are meant to be surrounded in a flaky dough, but if the dough is very dry, it's been overcooked.
Q: I want to use X Oreo variety. Can I do that?
A: Feel free! The best part of this recipe is the ability to use any Oreo you want. Any of them will work, even the Double Stuff variety.
