Ingredients
Here is everything you need to make homemade fruit ice cream. It’s a basic recipe with everyday ingredients!

- Frozen strawberries: I like to use frozen strawberries for this recipe because of its convenience and it sets up well. Fresh strawberries work in a pinch as well but the mixture will be thinner.
- Banana: I recommend fresh and ripe bananas for maximum sweetness.
- Sweetened condensed milk: This is a crucial ingredient to achieve the perfect consistency without churning the ice cream.
- Vanilla: Not only do you get a subtle vanilla flavor but it enhances the flavor of the fruit as well.
- Heavy cream: Whipping the cream helps with the texture of this strawberry banana dessert.
See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.
Variations
- Chocolate: Blend in cocoa powder or fold in chocolate chips. It pairs perfectly with strawberries and bananas.
- Nuts: Stir in chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans for a contrast in texture.
- Blueberry: Stir or blend fresh blueberries for even more berry flavor.
How to Make Banana Strawberry Ice Cream
In 6 easy steps, you will be ready to devour this delicious strawberry banana dessert! I would cut the banana into chunks so it blends easier before you get started.

Step 1: Blend the fruit and condensed milk. Add the frozen strawberries, bananas, and sweetened condensed milk to a blender. Blend the ingredients on medium speed until they are smooth and creamy.

Step 2: Whip the cream and vanilla. Pour the heavy cream and vanilla extract into a large mixing bowl. Using an electric hand or stand mixer, beat the mixture on medium-high speed for about 3-5 minutes. The cream is ready once stiff peaks form.

Step 3: Combine both mixtures. Fold the blended fruit mixture into the cream until it’s completely combined and smooth. Pour the finished ice cream mixture into a loaf pan. Cover it tightly with plastic wrap.

Step 4: Freeze. Place the pan in the freezer and allow the ice cream to set for at least 6 hours. It’s ready when it’s firm.
Step 5: Serve. Scoop a heaping amount into a bowl and enjoy!
⭐️ Hint: When wrapping it, ensure the plastic wrap is touching the ice cream. This will prevent freezer burn.
