    Perfect Bar Pumpkin Pie

    Perfect Bar Pumpkin Pie is a soft and doughy crust, topped with homemade creamy pumpkin pie. This delicious recipe is an excellent twist on pumpkin pie!

    Can you believe that Thanksgiving is coming around in a few months?  I cannot wait to share my scrumptious pumpkin pie recipe with you! As the saying goes, "no Thanksgiving is complete without pumpkin pie," and I would agree.

    But, this year I decided that I wanted to make a twist on my original pumpkin pie recipe. Am I the only one who takes a classic dish and makes it my own?  When I made my first pumpkin pie some years ago, I was seriously nervous about making such an important recipe.

    But then I realized that it was really just like any other dessert! Or maybe even easier because you don't have to worry about cake layers or making sure the batter is evenly distributed throughout the pan.

    So I started experimenting. I started with adding some cinnamon and ginger for added flavor, but that was too much! After a few tries (with my husband trying every version!), I stumbled upon this recipe.

    The Perfect Bar Pumpkin Pie is an amazing combination of soft doughy crust, topped with creamy pumpkin pie filling, and makes for a delicious pumpkin pie flavored dessert.

    I love these bars because they are easy to take on the go! They won't fall apart like regular pumpkin pie and still taste great! You could even dip them in whipped cream and sprinkle a little cinnamon on them!

    I'm very excited to share this recipe with you! And don't worry, you can till use my traditional Pumpkin Pie recipe or my Milk Bar Pumpkin Pie if you want to stick to the basics. But give these pumpkin pie bars a try, you won't regret it!

    What does Perfect Bar Pumpkin Pie taste like

    Perfect bar pumpkin pie tastes like a pumpkin pie, but with a soft doughy crust instead of a crispy pie crust. Trust me it will blow your mind.

    Although pumpkin pie is not my favorite dessert, it's the main harvest season and its flavors are all around us now, so I decided to take advantage of this fact and make a Pumpkin Pie recipe for you guys.

    Why did I call this recipe Perfect Bar Pumpkin Pie

    Because it really tastes like pumpkin pie in bar form!  I mean there are no better words to call it! One bite of this delicious dish and you will be in heaven.  It's a soft doughy crust, topped with creamy pumpkin pie filling and makes for an amazing dessert.

    As I mentioned before I have made my share of pies in the past. But it seems that making bars is way easier to prepare. All you have to do is mix everything together, press it into the pan , bake and devour! It's much simpler!

    My husband and I made these bars on a Sunday night, after we finished our last minute shopping for the upcoming week.  We had a few errands to run tomorrow , so we decided to make a dessert that could be easily transported through the car.

    This dessert would definitely be perfect for that kind of situation!

    What are Perfect Bar Pumpkin Pie bars

    If you love Pumpkin Pie, but want to try a different take on this delicious pie, then this recipe is for you. Perfect Bar Pumpkin Pie is pumpkin pie with a different crust. Plus, these bars are in handheld form! 

    What's not to love? These bars are a delicious snack, dessert, or even breakfast. The pumpkin pie filling is creamy and flavorful. It goes well with the sweet crust. You can make these bars as thick or thin as you want.

    These bars are the perfect handheld treat and easy to eat on the go.

    Can I use homemade pumpkin puree for pumpkin bars

    Absolutely, for this recipe I used canned pumpkin puree. However, if you have homemade pumpkin puree on hand, that would taste even better! Did you know that you can freeze leftover pumpkin puree?

    How do I store these Pumpkin Pie bars

    You can store these bars in the fridge. These homemade pumpkin pie bars will need to stay cool so that they don't lose their shape. Make sure to keep them tightly covered while you are storing the bars.  These bars will store well in the fridge for up to 4 days.

    Can I double this recipe

    Yes, this recipe can be doubled. You will need to use two different baking pans when you are doubling this recipe.

    Do you have a pumpkin pie dessert that uses an actual pie crust

    Where can I find canned pumpkin

    You can find canned pumpkin at any grocery store, or in the baking aisle.  I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we did!

    Can I freeze these bars

    Yes, to freeze these bars you will need to let them cool completely. Then you can wrap them in plastic wrap tightly and then place the wrapped bars into a freezer-safe bag. You can keep these frozen for up to 3 months.

    What are Pillsbury Crescent roll dough sheets

    I used Pillsbury Crescent roll dough sheets to make this recipe. You can find them in the refrigerator section of your grocery store next to the biscuits and pie crusts. They are inexpensive, easy to use, and taste great!  A Pillsbury Crescent dough sheets are basically just crescent roll dough without the perforation.

    Can I use regular Pillsbury Crescent rolls if I can't find the dough sheets?

    Yes, you can use regular Pillsbury Crescent rolls in this recipe. You need to roll out the crescent dough into a rectangle and then pinch closed any perforations that tear when you unroll them.

    Ingredients for Perfect Bar Pumpkin Pie

    • (1) 8oz package of Pillsbury Crescent roll dough sheet
    •  15oz can of pumpkin puree
    • 1 cup half and half
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • Whipped topping for garnish (optional)
    • Cinnamon for garnishing (optional)

    How to make Perfect Bar Pumpkin Pie

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease the bottom of a 9"x13" baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

    Gently unwrapped dough sheet and press into the bottom of the baking dish.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine pumpkin, half and half, sugars, pumpkin pie spice and vanilla. Mix until thoroughly combined.

    Pour pumpkin mixture into a baking dish and spread evenly.

    Bake for 45-50 minutes.

    When baking time is complete, carefully remove from the oven and allow to cool for 60-90 minutes.

    When cooling time is complete, cut the dish into 12 equal parts by making evenly spaced cuts, three horizontally and two vertically.

    Top with whipped topping and cinnamon for garnishing and enjoy!

    Notes:

    • Smells like thanksgiving while baking!
    • This is a very simple dish that does great at parties or hosting a small affair.
    • Don't rush the cool time. As this dish cools, the mixture solidifies more, making the bars more defined for when you cut them.
    • Be sure not to cut out the bars until this dish cools completely.

    This recipe is super easy to make and will be a hit at any gathering. The pumpkin pie bars are made with Pillsbury Crescent roll dough sheets, so they're an inexpensive dessert that tastes great!

    Have some friends over for dinner this Thanksgiving or bring these Pumpkin Pie Bars as your contribution to the office party. They'll love you forever!

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 tube (8) refrigerated crescent dough sheet
    • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
    • 1 cup half and half
