We, well especially me, loves all things peanut butter. These Krispie Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls are so easy to make and so addictive! They always disappear so fast and truth be told I know I am the problem! We love and can't get enough of them around here.
I remember my mother making these delicious little addictive treats when we were young, mostly made with dark semi-sweet chocolate. I could not get enough of them and wished she made them every day!
To this day I have trouble controlling myself in front of them so I don't make Krispie Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls as often as I would if I had any self control! I am protecting myself from myself if that makes sense.
I have dipped these treats in both white and dark chocolate and frankly with your eyes closed you might not be able to tell them apart. I sure can't!
Also, remember that you can stuff anything you can think if inside these peanut butter balls. Everything from a chocolate covered caramel candy, to toffee bits, to M&M's or Smarties to sprinkles! Anything and everything your heart desires! Use your imagination, I think you will be glad you did!

How to make Krispie Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls
Clear space in your refrigerator for large plates or baking sheets.
Cover plates or baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a medium sized mixing bowl combine peanut butter, icing sugar and butter, ideally with a stand mixer or handheld mixer.
Add cereal and any other optional ingredient and gently combine.
Place 1 to 1 ½ inch balls or blobs on the parchment paper and refrigerate until set, at least 3 hours.
Slowly melt chocolate in microwave or on your stovetop. Do not boil or overheat. You just want to warm the chocolate.
Take cold peanut butter balls and stab with a small fork, one at a time.
Dip and roll around in the chocolate, allow excess chocolate to drip off, return to parchment paper and then back in the refrigerator to set for another few hours. Drizzle remaining melted chocolate on top, if desired.
