Blue Cheese dip is an excellent and creamy dip that is perfect to pair with spicy buffalo wings or fresh-cut vegetables like carrots, celery, or bell pepper strips.

I do not know about you, but some people just cannot have wings with blue cheese dip. I am a ranch girl myself, but my husband is a blue cheese dip kind of guy. So I love making this creamy dip for him when we have wings.

Not only is this dip a great recipe for you to serve with baked chicken wings, but it makes an amazing appetizer when paired with fresh vegetables, crackers, or anything else that you like to dip.

This dip recipe is what we call fast and fabulous. After all these years, I can't understand why it tastes so good. It is a favorite of my husband's, and I can almost guarantee you will like it too. I've found that I have a new love for veggies when I use this dip! Whatever it takes to eat more veggies, right?!

Can I tell you a secret? Sometimes I struggle to get my family to get vegetables. My family does not even want to try vegetables. It's a mental block for them.

They just assume vegetables taste bad. I’ve learned the secret to getting my family to eat their vegetables is to dip them into something delicious. This blue cheese dip is just the tasty dip to make this happen.

I see no issue with giving them and me a little boost to add some more veggies to their day.

Can I use this dip for chips?

You certainly can use this blue cheese dip for chips. Have you ever tried the Hot Wings flavored Ruffles potato chips? If so, I think they would be amazing dipped into this creamy blue cheese dip.

The combination of the crunchy and spicy chip mixed with the cool and creamy blue cheese dip is a perfect combination and texture. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Another great suggestion that is similar to chips is to dip Buffalo Wing pretzel crisps into the blue cheese dip. I love the Snack Factory brand.

They are the perfect blend of seasoning and crispy. When dipped into this creamy blue cheese dip, it’s a snack that I crave nightly.

    Can I freeze this dip?

Unfortunately, you cannot freeze Blue Cheese Dip. Dairy-based products like salad dressings do not freeze well. When you freeze milk or dairy-based item, you will find that when they thaw, they tend to separate and change the texture.

This causes dairy-based items to not be good candidates for freezing. Have no fear, though. This dip can last for about a week in the fridge.

Since I know that I can't store this in the freezer, I always plan ahead and just make certain that I have enough veggies or chips on hand to be certain that I eat it throughout the week. I've never wasted any yet so it's a good plan that is working!

How can I thin this dip?

I love a thicker dip. Because of that, I didn’t thin this dip down any. If you prefer a thinner dip, then you can add a small amount of milk to your dip and mix.

I would start with one-half teaspoon of milk to your dip at a time until you get your blue cheese dip to the texture that you prefer. It's always a good idea to start out slow and then add in more as you go.

You can always make it more thick or thin depending on your preference.

    How to Store

Store your blue cheese dip for wings in the fridge. Make sure you keep your blue cheese dip away from air and heat sources. Be sure to keep your dip tightly covered. It's never a good idea to allow air to get into your dip until you are ready to serve.

Air can cause your dip to go rancid faster than it should. Keep your blue cheese dip in the fridge tightly covered for up to one week.

I tend to store this in a small mason jar with a lid or a class container with a lid as well. I try to stay away from plastic storage containers just because the plastic tends to absorb smells that I don't necessarily want to have stuck in there forever.

What to serve with this dip

The options that you can serve with this party food are endless. Here are a few of my favorite items to serve with my creamy dip.

    • Buffalo Grilled Cheese Sandwich
    • Buffalo Chicken Pinwheels
    • Fresh Vegetables - Celery Sticks, Carrot Sticks, Cucumber Slices, etc.
    • Salads - Use as a dressing on a salad.
    • Easy Buffalo Wing Bites
    • Pasta Salad - Use as a pasta salad dressing
    • Chicken Wings - Dip for chicken wings
    • Buffalo Chicken Drumsticks
    • Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Drumsticks or Legs
    • Buffalo Chicken meatballs - add or dip buffalo chicken meatballs.
    • French Fries - Great to dip!
    • Pizza - I love dipping pizza in this dressing, too.
