    Substitutions and Variations

    • Go Nuts - Add your favorite chopped nuts like hazelnuts, almonds, pecans, or walnuts to give your muffins added crunch.
    • Applesauce - Add more oil or softened butter instead.
    • Add Lemon or Orange Flavor - Add a teaspoon of lemon or orange zest and a tablespoon of fresh lemon or orange juice to your muffin batter.
    • Blueberries and Raspberries - Add the same amount of your favorite berries, diced apples or even chocolate chips, caramel chips, peanut butter chips, butterscotch chips or a combination.
    • Whole Milk - Use yogurt, buttermilk, almond milk, or even sour cream. Yogurt and sour cream will provide your muffins with a tender and moist texture, while almond milk is perfect for those looking for a dairy-free option.
    • Supersize Me - Remember that you can always upsize your mini muffins into regular sized or jumbo (bakery style) blueberry muffins by using a standard muffin tin (12 holes) or jumbo muffin tin (6 holes). Remember to adjust bake time accordingly.
