We love chicken tenders and fried chicken. I guess now I should say loved, as in past tense. You won’t find anything fried in this Garlic Parmesan Chicken recipe. I honestly can say that I don’t even miss it! This recipe is so full of flavor and crunch that you will be amazed! The BEST part of this chicken is that delicious breading. I just love the crunch that you get when you use panko breadcrumbs. The parmesan cheese adds such great flavor too. You can be creative with the seasonings if you want to. You could even add some heat if your family can handle it!
This recipe asks you to make a homemade garlic butter. So simple to make! I have to be honest though, I have been cheating. I have found sticks of garlic butter at my local grocery store. All you have to do is stick the butter in the microwave and melt it. If you take the shortcut or make homemade, they will both work perfectly for this Garlic Parmesan Chicken recipe.
This recipe is also very versatile. I typically use whatever type of chicken I have on hand, or whatever has been on sale at the store. We have tried both the breasts and thighs. They both turn out perfectly.

Garlic Parmesan Chicken Breast or Thighs
This recipe makes crispy, juicy, and flavorful chicken every time. You get all the crunch from a fried chicken by baking it using this method! Delicious every time!
- 4 chicken breast or thighs, boneless, skinless, cut into strips or whole
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated or shredded
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup butter, melted or 1 stick
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning -
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt -
- 1/4 tsp pepper -
- cooking spray
Prepare a rimmed baking sheet with tinfoil and cooking spray. Set aside. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Rinse and pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, stir the minced garlic into the melted butter. I often pick up a stick of garlic butter from the store to make things a bit easier instead of making it myself.
In another bowl mix the Panko, Parmesan, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and pepper.
One at a time dip the chicken into the melted garlic butter, and then into the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture.
Place coated chicken pieces on to your prepared baking sheet.
Drizzle chicken with remaining garlic butter.
Bake for 20-25 minutes if baking chicken thighs. If baking strips, 15-20 minutes. or chicken breasts 30-35 minutes. Be sure that the chicken is cooked and juices run clear before removing from your oven. Serve and enjoy!
