Fry over medium-high heat for about 6 minutes per side if using chicken breasts.
Bake for 20-25 minutes if making baked garlic parmesan chicken thighs. If baking strips, 15-20 minutes. or chicken breasts for 30-35 minutes. Be sure that the chicken is cooked and the juices run clear before removing it from your oven. Serve with salt and pepper! Enjoy!
Substitutions
Don’t have the correct ingredients on hand? Or want to change something up? Here are some helpful tips for you to change this recipe for garlic parmesan chicken.
- Swap the Panko bread crumbs for Italian bread crumbs. If you make this swap, you probably want to cut back on the Italian seasoning in the recipe.

Tips
- You can lighten this recipe up even more by coating only one side of the chicken.
- Pound chicken breasts to equal thickness (if using) to ensure all of the chicken is cooked through.
- Don’t cook on too high of heat or the outside will over brown before the chicken is cooked through.
- Make chicken strips and reduce cooking time.
FAQ
The cooking time will vary based on the thickness of your chicken. If using chicken breasts, it is best they are not too thick. Place thicker pieces of chicken into a large zipper bag and pound until desired thickness is reached. You can use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked through. A safe cooking temperature for all poultry is 165 degrees F.
Spray the top of chicken with a little cooking spray or broil for the last few minutes of cooking, until golden brown.
