Gingerbread Dip is a rich and decadent Christmas dip that I love to make as part of our holiday spread. It works great with various snacks as dippers and guests always devour it. If you love gingerbread and cheesecake flavors, this is the perfect recipe for you to try.
The molasses adds a complex and robust flavor that compliments the spices such as ginger and clove. It helps to provide the authentic gingerbread cookie flavor. Combined with the tangy cream cheese, you have a well-balanced Christmas cookie dip.

Ingredients
Here is everything you need to make this gingerbread Christmas party dip. All of the ingredients may be found at any grocery store all year round so you can enjoy it any time of year.
- Cream cheese: This adds richness and tangy flavor to the dip — giving it cheesecake flavor. Ensure the cream cheese is softened before you mix it so it’s nice and smooth.
- Molasses: One of the key ingredients of gingerbread cookies is molasses. It adds that classic robust flavor.
- Sugar: To further play off the flavor of the molasses, I add brown sugar instead of white sugar.
- Spices: I use ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. These are the same spices used in ginger cookies.
- Cool Whip: So the dip is extra fluffy, I fold in Cool Whip. Do not use canned whipped cream as it will not hold up the same.
See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.
Variations
- Chocolate: Fold in mini chocolate chips for added texture and richness.
- Marshmallow: Add mini marshmallows or marshmallow fluff for a holiday twist.
- Maple: Swap half of the molasses for maple syrup for a different flavor profile.
How to Make Gingerbread Cookie Dip
In just a few minutes, you will have an amazing gingerbread dip for graham crackers, cookies, and more. All you have to do is mix the ingredients and it’s ready!
Step 1: Beat the cream cheese. Add the cream cheese to a large mixing bowl. Beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until it's fluffy.
Step 2: Add molasses, sugar, and spices. Then, beat in the molasses, brown sugar, and powdered sugar. Once those ingredients are fully combined, add the spices and mix them in thoroughly.
Step 3: Fold in Cool Whip. Use a rubber spatula to fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture.
Step 4: Serve. Transfer it to a serving dish and enjoy or store it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to eat it.
⭐️ Hint: You may use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the cream cheese. If you don’t have either, a whisk will work as well.
