Ingredients
Here is everything you need to make one of my favorite creamy chicken crockpot recipes. It includes cheap pantry items like cream of chicken soup and chicken broth for an easy yet delicious pasta dish.

- Chicken breasts: I like this recipe with boneless skinless chicken breasts because it makes serving easier and more convenient. You may use bone-in chicken and shred it off the bone before you add the angel hair pasta.
- Garlic: Fresh garlic adds a wonderful sharp flavor that enhances the other ingredients. Plus, it smells amazing as it cooks.
- Cream of chicken soup: This adds flavor and a creamy texture to the sauce. It’s a great shortcut ingredient for a lot of recipes.
- Cream cheese: For a rich and tangy flavor, cream cheese is the way to go. Ensure it is softened before you add it to the saucepan so it melts easier and more evenly.
- Italian dressing mix: This is a quick way to get a variety of dried herbs into the sauce. It’s savory, zesty, and delicious!
- Chicken broth: To achieve the perfect velvety consistency, chicken broth is key.
- Dry white wine: I love the depth that wine adds to a recipe. Dry white wine adds a subtle sweetness and acidity to balance the richness.
- Angel hair pasta: This ingredient is how the recipe gets its name! I cook it separately to ensure the pasta cooks evenly and properly. It’s thin so it overcooks easily.
See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.
Variations
- Spinach sundried tomato: Add fresh spinach and sundried tomatoes for pops of color and brightness.
- Mixed veggie: Throw in a bag of mixed vegetables to make it a well-rounded dinner.
- Lemon pesto: Lemon juice and basil pesto add the perfect amount of freshness. Add them right before serving!
How to Make Angel Chicken Pasta in the Crock Pot
Here are the instructions on how to make crockpot angel hair chicken pasta. Spray your slow cooker pot with a light coating of nonstick cooking spray so the chicken doesn’t stick to the bottom. During the last 20 minutes of cooking time, prepare the angel hair pasta according to the package directions so it’s ready to go.

Step 1: Cook the butter and garlic. Add the butter to a saucepan over medium heat and stir in the minced garlic. Allow the garlic to cook for 2-3 minutes until it’s softened and fragrant.

Step 2: Add the remaining sauce ingredients. Whisk in the soup, cream cheese, Italian seasoning mix, broth, and wine into the melted butter. Once it’s all melted and smooth, you may remove it from the heat.

Step 3: Put everything into the crockpot. Layer the chicken breasts into the bottom of the crockpot and pour the sauce evenly over the top. Ensure it generously covers all of the chicken!

Step 4: Cook. Put the lid on and cook the chicken on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours until the chicken is perfectly tender.

Step 5: Serve. Enjoy the chicken over the cooked pasta and spoon extra sauce if desired. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top for a pop of color!
Recipe Tips
- Avoid opening the lid: The steam generated by your crockpot is what helps to cook the food. Opening it too often releases the steam and affects the cooking process. There’s no need to stir it during cooking time to leave the lid on as long as possible.
- Give the chicken time to rest: If you slice the chicken breasts straight from the slow cooker, all of the juices will run out, and they will become dry. Allow them 10-15 minutes to rest before you serve them.
- Make it creamier: Stir in some heavy cream or sour cream to the sauce to make it even more rich and creamy.

Storage Directions
- Storing: Store leftover angel chicken in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. You may freeze the chicken and sauce in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. I recommend making the pasta before you serve it because it becomes mushy as it thaws.
- Reheating: Put the chicken, sauce, and pasta into a saucepan and heat them gently over medium-low heat until warm. I don’t recommend microwaving the pasta, but you may microwave the chicken and sauce.
