Easy Soup or Salad Wonton Crisps from PF Changs restaurant are addictive, crispy chips, baked or fried, appetizers topped as you desire.
I first tried a deep fried version of these Soup or Salad Wonton Crisps at a PF Changs restaurant in Canada. I used to go there regularly with my mother and we loved it.
Then they closed down.
I was lucky though to speak with a cook in the kitchen who told me how to make these crisps and their Green Veggie Soup. Not only are these crisps great in soup they are awesome on salad too. I choose to bake them but frying wonton wrappers in 1 inch of vegetable oil works great too!
Soup or Salad Wonton Crisps can also be easily consumed as a snack too! Sprinkled with a little salt, pepper or garlic powder or whatever dried herbs or spices you prefer and they become so addictive! Take your favorites and give these crisps a little sprinkle and you will love these!
Ingredients in Soup or Salad Wonton Crisps
- wonton wrappers
- cooking spray
- olive oil
- salt
- parmesan
How to make Soup or Salad Wonton Crisps
Preheat oven to 375°F
Stack wonton wrappers and cut wonton squares into ¼-1/2 inch strips.
Coat a foil lined baking sheet with cooking spray and place sliced wrappers on the sheet in a single layer, making sure they don't touch. Brush the strips with oil or use cooking spray and sprinkle with salt and parmesan to taste.
Bake until golden, between 7 and 8 minutes. Watch them the first time you make them because cooking time varies slightly and you don’t want them to burn. It happens fast. Let cool and serve.
I keep them in a sealed container at room temperature for up to 2 days if only salted.
Are Wonton Wrappers Gluten Free?
Generally, wonton wrappers contain gluten unfortunately. But, if you'd like, you can substitute corn tortillas for the wrappers because they ARE gluten-free.
