Eggnog Cookies
I think what makes these cookies different than other cookies is that they're made with the main ingredient being instant pudding. Many people might question why add this in? Well, let me tell you.
Adding the instant pudding to your cookies is what makes them have that texture that literally melts in your mouth. There are very few cookies in the world that can give you that type of texture but these are ones that you really need to try.
And if you're in a giving mood, you might even consider putting out a few of these for Santa this year as well. I'm certain he would appreciate the kind gesture and will for sure love the taste.

Where is eggnog most popular?
Just in case you're wondering, eggnog is actually quite the popular drink for those who reside in the United States. It can have many different flavors but they all tend to be similar.
Eggnog is also really only popular during the holidays which is why this is one of the main ingredients in these cookies.
Why do we drink eggnog at Christmas?
This is actually something that was started back in the 1800s. People would combine eggs and rum and found out that it created quite the drink.
And even though these cookies are rum-free, that doesn't mean that you can't create a separate bowl of your own eggnog drink as well!
What does eggnog taste like?
It's a unique flavor, for sure. It does have an egg taste to it, so that is something to be aware of. Most people either love eggnog or hate it...there's typically no inbetween. However, I will say that even though these cookies are flavored like eggnog, it's not an overly powerful flavor that you're going to have to worry about. It's the perfect hint, just enough to give your tastebuds a treat.
Can you use other flavors of instant pudding for these eggnog cookies?
You can. I like the flavor of vanilla personally with the eggnog but you can change it up and see what you like best. Some other flavors that might be fun could be chocolate, lemon, hazelnut, or anything else that you're geared up for and hoping to try.
How do you know when these cookies are done baking in the oven?
Since these cookies only take 13 minutes to bake, you'll want to pay close attention so that you don't overcook them. The easiest way to tell that they're done and ready to remove from the oven is that their edges are starting to brown.
You can also use the sniff test and be certain, too. This is a simple way to start paying attention once the smell of cookies hits your nose.
Can I put on the sprinkles after the cookies are baked?
You can try but it's not going to work. Since there isn't any type of frosting or anything on the cookie there isn't anything that will hold the cookies in place. And while you can add them and smoosh them down, you then take the chance of cracking your cookie or making it look a bit messy.
The key to getting the sprinkles to stick is to roll the dough in the sprinkles while it's still "wet" from all the added ingredients Then, once you mash and bake, the sprinkles will stay put and be baked right onto the cookies.
How To Freeze Leftover Cookies
There might be times when you're looking to freeze a few cookies for later. Luckily, freezing cookies is a simple process, and fairy straight-forward as well.
Just put whatever cookies you have leftover in a freezer-safe bag and place them in your freezer. Then, when you're ready to snack and enjoy, you just have to pull out a cookie or two, let it unthaw for a short amount of time, and enjoy.
Fun Ways To Share Cookies This Holiday Season
Since the holiday season is all about sharing and caring for others, baking up some homemade cookies and gifting them to family and friends might be just the perfect gift that you're looking for.
You can easily bake up a fresh plate of cookies and hand-deliver it to anyone on your holiday list. I'm certain that they'll be more than happy to take bite after bite of these delicious cookies.
Another great idea is to host a Christmas Cookie Exchange where everyone can bake up their favorite cookie and then share them all amongst each other. This is a fun activity and a great way to get a ton of different cookies to nibble on and try.
However you decide to share these eggnog cookies this holiday season, don't forget to treat yourself in the process as well. Part of the perk of being the baker is that you get to have the first cookie and bite! (and the last cookie, too!)
I think that you're going to love the unique taste and flavor of these simple red and green eggnog cookies. They just might take over as the softest and tastiest cookies that you've ever had!
