This peach dumpling recipe will bring you right back to Grandma’s house! Seriously.
I love making this recipe because it reminds me so much of my childhood. Both my grandmother and my mother were big fans of peach cobbler. Whenever that delicious fruit was in season, we could always count on having peach cobbler for dessert at least a few times a month. It was absolutely delicious, and we couldn’t get enough of it.
When I became a mom, I continued that tradition, and even though my son is grown and off on his own, I continue to make this delicious dessert. I always make it when he comes to visit so we can all remember the good old days over a slice of one of our favorite desserts.
Easy Peach Cobbler Dumplings
You can have this Easy peach cobbler dumpling recipe whenever your heart desires, just don’t let Grandma know you made it with canned peaches instead of fresh. Although both ways are equally delicious! It’s one of my favorite recipes to make because it has the delicious from-scratch, down-home flavor, but it’s semi-homemade. That means I can be in and out of the kitchen fast without it tasting like I was in and out of the kitchen fast, if you know what I mean.
Ingredients
This peach cobbler with crescent rolls recipe is so incredibly simple to make. It only takes a handful of ingredients. You’ll find that you most likely have the majority of them in your kitchen already. The only things you might have to buy are the crescent rolls and whipped cream or vanilla ice cream to serve on top when your cobbler is all done.
I’ve also included a recipe for delicious homemade whipped cream. Because nothing is better on a peach cobbler of any sort than real, homemade whipped cream!
Here’s what you’ll need.

- Crescent Rolls
- Peaches (Fresh or canned)

- Cinnamon
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional but an absolutely delicious addition)
For the Homemade Whipped Cream
- 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream

Making Easy Peach Cobbler Dumplings
Making this delicious, peach-filled dessert is as easy as gathering the ingredients. It takes next to no time at all. All you need to do is boil a bit and then pour your filling over the crust. That’s it! It comes together in a flash. You’ll find the complete recipe with amounts and times in the recipe card at the end of the post, but take a look at the overview below. You’ll immediately see how easy this recipe is.

- Wrap peaches in crescent roll dough and place in a baking dish.
- Combine sugar, water, butter, and cinnamon.

- Pour the mixture over the crescent roll wrapped peaches.

Making Cinnamon Roll Peach Cobbler
These easy peach dumplings with crescent rolls are absolutely divine just as they are, but the great thing about a recipe like this is that you can tweak and change it to make it your own. I’ve done that a time or two with this one. My favorite variation is cinnamon roll peach cobbler. Just like this peach dumpling recipe, it’s a delicious take on classic peach cobbler, and it’s absolutely delicious!
Ingredients
By simply replacing the crescent dough with cinnamon roll dough, you can add a lovely depth of flavor to your peach cobbler rolls. The cinnamon rolls add extra sweetness along with a ton of cinnamon flavor that works so amazingly well with your peach mixture. It’s a cinnamon-filled trip to Heaven, and your taste buds are invited!
To make Peach Cobbler with Cinnamon Rolls, gather all the same ingredients except swap the 8 count cinnamon rolls for the crescent rolls. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 8oz packages of crescent rolls
- 2 15oz cans of sliced peaches
- Granulated Sugar
- Brown sugar
- Water
- Butter
- Cinnamon
- Whip cream or vanilla ice cream (optional, but highly recommended)
Making Cinnamon Roll Peach Cobbler
Because making this recipe with cinnamon rolls will make it a little thicker, I like to take out a cinnamon roll and fold it in half so that the edges are slightly overlapping. You’ll need to roll or flatten out your cinnamon roll strip by hand. I find the easiest way to do this is to place it on parchment paper so it makes less of a mess, and it’s easier to transfer to the baking dish once it’s ready.
You’ll follow the same recipe for this recipe as you would for the peach cobbler dumplings. You’ll simply wrap the peaches with the cinnamon roll dough rather than the crescent roll dough. That’s all there is to it! Here’s what you’ll do:
- Wrap peaches in cinnamon roll dough and place in a baking dish.
- Combine sugar, water, butter, and cinnamon.
- Boil until reduced to a slightly thick syrup.
- Pour the mixture over the crescent roll wrapped peaches.
- Bake.
Tips
You can make either of these recipe variations using fresh or canned peaches. They’re both delicious. How you choose to do it is totally up to you. I have some tips here that will help you make the best easy peach cobbler dumplings no matter which method you choose to use.
Easy Peach Cobbler Dumplings with Fresh Peaches
To use fresh peaches, you’ll need to get the skin off of them. It’s an extremely easy process, but if you’ve never done it before, you might not know how. Luckily for you, I’m here to break it down for you. Here’s how you get the skin off of fresh peaches.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- While waiting for the water to boil, fill a large bowl with ice water.
- Cut a small x on the bottom of your peaches.
- Place two to four peaches in the boiling water. Don’t crowd the pot, or the water will become too cool.
- Leave the peaches in the boiling water for 30 seconds.
- Quickly remove them from the water and transfer them to your ice water for a couple of seconds until they’ve cooled enough to handle but are still very warm.
- Peel the peaches beginning where you made the x. The skin should peel right off!
Easy Peach Cobbler Dumplings with Canned Peaches
To make either version of this recipe with canned peaches, just take the sliced peaches right out of the can and wrap them in the dough. From there, make the recipe exactly as called for above. That’s all there is to it! I prefer to use fresh peaches, but if I’m pressed for time, I’ll use canned peaches to shave time off of my recipe. It’s a quick and easy shortcut, and the result is still incredibly tasty!
Serving Easy Peach Cobbler Dumplings
I love to serve this peach dumpling recipe with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. This easy Pillsbury peach cobbler recipe is so good just like that. There’s no need to add anything else to it.

It’s so delicious, everyone always comes back for seconds—and thirds if there’s any of it left. Just place it on the table in its baking dish and let everyone dig in!
Storing Easy Peach Cobbler Dumplings
This easy Pillsbury peach cobbler recipe will keep well in the refrigerator for up to five days in an air-tight container. For longer storage, you can freeze this delicious cobbler variation for up to a month. To freeze, simply allow it to chill completely in the refrigerator and then freeze it in an air-tight, freezer-safe container. To reheat it, allow it to thaw in the refrigerator and then place it in the oven at 350 until heated through. While it will still be delicious, you should be aware that the freezing and reheating process will make the dumplings a little mushy. BUT it’s still delicious and a far better alternative than having to throw any of it out.
