These cupcakes are so easy to prepare and require such simple ingredients with flavors throughout the cupcake. A little bit of everything in every single bite!
These cupcakes are perfect for fall but so easy to make all year round.
Instead of fresh apples we chose to use diced apple pie filling and it worked so much better in terms of flavor.
We chose to use store bought caramel sauce because of its ease and convenience although homemade would work great too!

The Best Caramel Buttercream Ever
Butter gives this Buttercream Icing a richer and creamier taste, while reducing the sweetness somewhat, than a simple frosting will. Generally frosting uses shortening or cream cheese and no butter.
Buttercream Icing
- butter
- icing or powdered sugar
- caramel sauce
- milk
*extra cinnamon to sprinkle on top of icing to decorate if desired
Tips for making the Best Buttercream Icing
Make sure your butter is at room temperature for the best results. Also, use a full fat, room temperature, cream cheese for more stability with the icing. Remember not to over mix or the cream cheese can start to appear grainy.

I can't be the only one who makes desserts depending on who is visiting and I have to admit that over the years I have developed some habits!
Usually, I prepare specific desserts as a result of requests for certain desserts when people visit. For years now, whenever certain cousins come over, I always make The Easiest Caramel Infused Chocolate Cupcakes.
They disappear lightening fast and even though they are adults (practically) now they still look forward to those cupcakes.
My son even looks for them once he knows they are coming because he knows I always make them for them. He is just lucky to live here and always eats one or two before they arrive!
I also do the same thing with my Easy Gingerbread Cupcakes. I always make them for a couple special people in my life, every year over the holidays, and they know who they are!

And at what point do you add the flour mixture?

I apologize for the delay in my response I have been in hospital and unfortunately when that happens nothing gets done! I have updated the recipe to reflect my error and I can't thank you enough for bringing it to my attention. Add the flour mixture to your egg mixture after it is blended. Also this recipe makes about 12 cupcakes. Sometimes I end up with an extra! Enjoy. This recipe is delicious! Hopefully you agree. Take care and be well. Karin

How much butter? It says 1 1/2 cups melted butter or 1 1/2 sticks. That is not the same.
1 1/2 cups would be 3 sticks. Which is it? This recipe sounds great but I don't want to ruin it.
Karin and Ken says
Thank you for taking the time to let me know about the error. It should read 3 sticks. I apologize for the confusion. Please let me know what you think of this recipe after you try it. I love these cupcakes and would love to hear what you think! Regardless thank you again. Take care. Karin
