This air fryer English muffin pizza features all our favorite pizza toppings piled onto airy English muffins and then fried to golden brown, melty perfection in the air fryer.
I remember standing on a step stool, in our kitchen when I was young. Trying to make an English muffin pizza in our toaster oven.
I had all of the ingredients ready from the night before. I had lots of practice. I knew the setting on the toaster oven and got my pizzas ready to go.
Opened the toaster oven door, and placed my two halves on either side. Closed the door and pressed the button.
I always watched through the window waiting for the toaster oven to ding. I enjoyed watching my cheese melt!
Once ready I opened the door of the toaster oven. Waited for the halves to cool a little and removed them onto a plate. Off to the family room I'd go to eat and watch television.
I remember putting toppings away in the fridge but I never remember cleaning up. Not once. Those were the good old days.
I think of that every time we make this recipe and smile.

Substitutions
Don't have the correct ingredients or pizza toppings on hand? Or want to change something up? Here are some helpful tips for you to change this air fryer English muffin pizza recipe.
- Cheese - instead of mozzarella use an Italian blend, provolone, cheddar, gouda, or your favorite or a blend of your favorite shredded cheese
- Parmesan Cheese - I like to add parmesan cheese under the mozzarella cheese, or whichever cheese I'm using on top, so it doesn't burn and I get to enjoy the flavor
- Vegetables - add sliced olives, sliced onions, red or yellow sweet bell peppers, pineapple chunks, diced ham, cooked ground beef, cooked bacon, sauteed mushrooms, or eggplant
- Vegetarian - skip the pepperoni and use more vegetables
- Vegan - Use a vegan-friendly English muffin with some vegan pepperoni and cheese to create an amazing plant-based version
- Pizza Sauce - use another sauce like alfredo, garlic sauce, ranch dressing, buffalo sauce, pesto, tapenade, marinara sauce, salsa, barbecue sauce, or your favorite
- Mini Pepperonis - Buy regular-sized and cut into four sections per slice
- Fresh Oregano - Use basil, thyme, marjoram, or an Italian blend
- English Muffins - Use multigrain or whole wheat English muffins instead
