I just wish I was better at limiting myself to only one piece because that is all you really need! Maybe practice will make perfect? Oh who am I kidding?
Please be advised that this dessert is so tasty and totally addictive, you might want to consider making a double batch. I don't want any complaints! ?
No Bake Cookie Dough
Eating cookie dough is something you either love or hate. I have found there is no in between. Either you have always done it and enjoy it or are totally disgusted by the idea.
I remember loving cookie dough when I was younger and as I got older too. As a matter of fact I know I enjoy cookie dough right before I enjoy a batch of freshly baked cookies to this day.
I just can't resist the temptation or urge to eat it. Now there is no need to bake your cookie dough any longer!
I've always justified "tasting" the cookie dough because I firmly believed you can tell how great your baked cookie would taste if the dough tasted great!
That doesn't sound as good as thought it would after seeing it written in front of me, but that is how I have been justifying it in my mind for so many years.
Okay I have to say it again, I just love cookie dough and always have. If you are like me and you pretty much only make cookies so you can eat the dough, these bars are for you!
It’s chocolate peanut butter cookie dough heaven!
Eggless Cookie Dough
I am lucky too because I have never gotten sick from the raw eggs or uncooked flour found in regular cookie dough!
My mother and both grandmothers all gave us cookie dough to try before baking and never knew or thought it was dangerous. (One of my grandmothers lived on a farm and we enjoyed farm fresh eggs and never got sick, for whatever reason).
My dad always said I'd rather be lucky than smart any day so I guess I am just lucky I never got sick! That being said this cookie dough does not use eggs so there is no reason for concern about the eggs!
However, currently there is minimal concern about eating or consuming uncooked flour. For more information about uncooked flour, see below.

People always talk about how raw cookie dough is dangerous and can make you sick. This is for 2 reasons. The first is because it contains raw eggs (Salmonella danger) and the second is because of uncooked flour (E coli risk).
Fear not with these cookie bars. They don't contain eggs, nor do they include raw flour. Either baking the flour in the oven or cooking in a microwave will kill any potential bacteria if that is your concern.
These cookie dough bars are totally safe to eat. The only danger is from eating too many!
How to make raw flour safe to eat
To toast the flour in the oven, spread 2 cups on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for about 5 minutes. With the microwave you just heat for 1 minute and 15 seconds on high, stirring every 15 seconds, and you're good to go!
Regardless of your chosen method, the flour must reach a temperature 0f 165 degrees to be deemed safe to eat and it is just that simple to ensure it's safety. I have never done this myself but that doesn't mean you won't want to!
If you would like further information on E. coli linked to raw flour take a look here.

DO NOT ingest or even just taste anything that contains raw flour or uncooked eggs. Make sure it has been cooked before eating it. This includes flour being used as a thickening agent.

Beat softened butter until fluffy, then add in brown sugar, sweet condensed milk, flour, peanut butter and vanilla. Stir until well blended.
Fold in ½ cup of chocolate chips.

To make topping, over medium heat, bring to a slight boil.

Can you bake them?
Karin and Ken says
I wouldn’t. Unfortunately the recipe isn’t made for baking and my concern is that they would become a runny mess if you try it. I apologize! They’re definitely delicious as they are. I hope you’ll still try them. All the best. Karin

Hi K & K, did you know that due to shrinkflation a "can" of SCM is no longer 14oz? Many recipes will have to be adjusted to accommodate this.
I made Millionaire squares last year and did a 1 1/2 recipe to use the extra SCM up. Love your website and the many excellent recipes.

Unfortunately “shrinkflation” is causing lots of recipe problems! With over 2000 recipes I’m making progress slowly unfortunately. I apologize for the inconvenience and wish I could get it done quicker. I’m glad you’re enjoying my recipes. I try my best. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day. All the best. Karin

I wasn’t aware about the concern about flour until recently myself. I have always eaten raw cookie dough and my fudge and have never gotten sick. That being said it is still possible so I suppose I should consider doing it in the future! This recipe is another personal favorite of mine and I’m glad to see you gave it 5 stars! Thank you for taking the time to comment and let me know. All the best to you. Take care. Karin
