I know I can’t be the only one that loves a great Easy Tomato Salsa recipe. Can I? This recipe is not only simple and quick but it is low in calories and absolutely delicious! I am always desperate for recipes that I enjoy with as few calories as possible!
My husband and I will often sit and watch a movie or hockey game and devour and entire bowl! We usually keep a bag or corn or tortilla chips around just for such an occasion! This Easy Tomato Salsa also tastes great with our Baked Pita Chips which are wonderful in their own right!
I frequently make our Easy Tomato Salsa with The Ultimate Guacamole or our Simple Seafood Dip, They go perfectly together and are not packed full of tons of calories like other snacks we used to eat! Served with corn or tortilla chips or our Baked Pita Chips you will not be disappointed!
You can make this Easy Tomato Salsa with fresh tomatoes or even canned. I try to use fresh tomatoes whenever possible but sometimes I grab a can and make this salsa anyways! Just as tasty but I can’t help but prefer using fresh tomatoes!
If you are using all fresh ingredients to make your Easy Tomato Salsa you can expect it to last up to 4 days in your refrigerator. This snack or appetizer is best served fresh but regardless you have to make sure to strain it before you serve it.

Easy Tomato Salsa
- ½ small jalapeño pepper or 1/2 chipotle chile in adobo sauce, minced
- 1/2 medium onion, red, diced
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 4 teaspoons juice from 2 limes
- 4 medium 4 medium tomatoes, diced or 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
In a medium sized bowl combine onions, garlic, cilantro, chipoltle in adobo or jalapeno, lime juice. salt and pepper. Gently fold in tomatoes.
Transfer the salsa to a strainer in your sink and allow the excess liquid to drain. Transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy!
