What I love about sweets and treats during the holiday season is that all bets are off. You can literally combine any type of sweets and be certain that they're going to taste awesome. And guess what? This simple chocolate pecan recipe doesn't require any baking at all.

If you can operate a microwave, you can easily make this holiday dessert. All you have to do is follow the simple recipe below to get started and in a super short amount of time, you're going to have an amazing flavor that you'll want to make over and over again.

This is one of my favorite chocolate desserts to make for Christmas because it's worth every single bite. I also love giving this to family and friends because it makes the perfect homemade gift idea as well.

    Chocolate Covered Pecans

If I told you that it was possible to make a dessert using just four basic ingredients, would you even believe me at all? But once you take a peek at this recipe, you're going to be shocked. I can't express to you how simple and delicious this recipe is, and so fast, too.

I love to take an afternoon and make up these chocolate covered pecans and it's also a great recipe to have helpers in the kitchen as well. There's a reason that this chocolate covered pecan recipe is so popular and you're about to find out what I love it so very much!

Why spend hours in the kitchen when you really don't have to? This recipe proves that you can have that holiday sweet flavor and taste without spending the entire holiday season baking it up.

    Chocolate Covered Pecans

As I mentioned before, you just need to stock up on the simple ingredients that are listed below. And the good news? You can easily alter this recipe to fit your taste buds even more.

Variations for this Chocolate Pecan Recipe

If you're not a fan of using pecans, you really don't have to. You can easily swap out the pecans for peanuts, walnuts, or any other type of nut that you want.

You can also opt to use different types of chocolate chips and flavors as well if you're not a fan of white chocolate chips. If you're ready and looking for a way to vary up this recipe so that it looks and tastes different, you pretty much have free reign to make that easily happen.

What happens if I burn the chocolate in the microwave?

You have to be very careful about this. If you're not, you're going to burn the chocolate and have to throw it out. This is why I always recommend melted it in intervals so that you can stop and stir and make certain that you're not burning it.

If you do happen to burn it, you do need to throw it in the trash because if not, your chocolate is going to have a burnt taste that is going to carry throughout and make it quite noticeable.

What if my chocolate doesn't harden?

You need the chocolate to cool and harden to sit up properly. If it doesn't, you need to give it more time and possibly even pop it in the freezer to speed up the process.

How do you store chocolate-covered pecan clusters once made?

To keep these as fresh as possible for as long as possible, you need to store these in an airtight container in the fridge. This will help them to stay perfectly hardened yet soft to enjoy and eat.

And if you realize that you have too many to enjoy in a short amount of time, you should consider adding them to the freezer as well. As long as you have the proper freezer-container to keep them good, you can freeze them for a few weeks without any issue.

More Topping Ideas for Chocolate Covered Pecans

Don't forget to make these treats your own as well. As you can see from the recipe, I've topped them with green M&Ms for the holiday season but you can totally change it up and try out new toppings, too.

Sprinkle on extra chocolate chips, drizzle caramel, top with shredded coconut, or think about another sweet topping that you love. As long as your taste buds love it, go for it!

It is important to add though that if you're going to freeze these for later, you need to wait and add on the toppings after you unthaw to enjoy. This will make them super fresh and add a lot more flavor to each and every bite.

Ingredients needed to make Chocolate Covered Pecans

    • White chocolate chips
    • Pecans
    • Milk chocolate chips
    • M&Ms

Don't be scared to vary up the ingredients as I mentioned above. Try out different types of chocolate and nuts to create a fun and unique taste every time!

Fun Ways to Gift These Chocolate Covered Pecans

It's no secret that everyone loves a homemade treat but not everyone has the time, patience, or means to make them on their own. If you're looking for a simple and fast way to make someone smile, why not give them the gift of these homemade holiday desserts?

You can keep it as simple or as complicated as you want. If you're wanting to spruce up the gift-giving, just add a fun ribbon to the box or bag and spruce it up as best as you can.

Pairing these treats up with a fun homemade card or a few other homemade cookies and treats are certainly going to be the bright spot to their day.

See how fun this simple recipe can be? Have a ball making these Chocolate Covered Pecans! It's a great recipe that you don't even have to turn on your oven for!
