Buffalo Wild Wings is known for its delicious honey BBQ wings. They are absolutely delicious, and I love them so much. Rather than waiting to head to B-Dubs, I decided to simply make my own.
Buffalo Wild Wings Honey BBQ Wings
This was inspired by my other chicken wings recipe on this site and pairs well with this amazing blue cheese dip recipe.
Ingredients
It only takes a few simple ingredients to make this recipe. You'll find them all easily at your local grocery store.
- Chicken wings
- Ketchup
- White vinegar
- Molasses
- Honey
- Liquid smoke
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Paprika
- Chili powder
- Cayenne pepper
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Oil for frying

Instructions
This delicious recipe is super easy to make. It only takes a few simple steps!
Step 1: Prep the Wings
If necessary, use a sharp knife to trim excess skin from the wings, rinse with water, then pat them dry with paper towel.
Step 2: Make the Sauce
Combine the ketchup, vinegar, molasses, honey, liquid smoke, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, chili powder and cayenne pepper, in a medium saucepan, over medium heat. Bring the sauce to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
Step 3: Bake the Wings
Bake the chicken wings at 400F for 60 minutes on greased baking sheet covered in tinfoil.
Step 4: Toss with Sauce
Let the wings cool slightly, then toss them in the honey BBQ sauce. Enjoy!
Hint: Be sure the wings are dry before adding them to the oil to avoid major spattering.

Buffalo Wild Wings Honey BBQ Wings
Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken wings and drumettes (8-12 uually, depending on size)
- 1 cup ketchup
- ⅓ cup white vinegar
- ¼ cup molasses
- ¼ cup liquid honey
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Grab a resealable bag and throw wings inside. Add enough oil to coat and dump on baking sheet covered in tinfoil. Sprinkle wings with salt and pepper. Bake the chicken wings at 400 degrees F for 60 minutes and golden brown.
- Get out and measure your ingredients.
- Using a medium saucepan, over medium heat, add ketchup, white vinegar, molasses, honey, liquid smoke, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, chili powder and cayenne pepper. Stir to combine. Bring the sauce to a boil, reduce heat and simmer on low, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat.
- Remove your chicken wings from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Place the wings in a a large, heat resistant bowl.
- Drizzle sauce on wings.
- Toss wings in honey barbecue sauce.
- Serve with sauce on side for dipping, if desired.
