    Smoked Green Beans are buttery, garlicky, and full of smoky flavor. This homemade green beans recipe has a ring of familiarity to it, but takes the taste of green beans to a whole new level!

    This five ingredient recipe is simple and easy to make. Not only is this recipe easy it's also kid friendly.

    Smoked Fresh Green Beans

    This tasty smoked fresh green bean recipe was inspired by my need to find a different way to serve this vegetable. Green beans are a staple side dish in our household but I wanted a new way to serve them. These smoked fresh green beans make for a side dish for this Smoked Catfish recipe.

    Ingredients

    Are you ready to make this smoked side dish recipe? All you need is five basic ingredients. One trip to the grocery store and you are ready to make this tasty dish.

    • Green Beans
    • Butter
    • Salt
    • Pepper
    • Garlic

    Optional Sauce:

    • sour cream
    • garlic
    • Dill weed
    • salt and pepper

    Instructions

    These easy Smoked Green Beans only take four steps and then you have a delicious and smoked side dish recipe.

    Step 1: Prep your green beans

    Wash and trim off the ends of your fresh green beans

    Step 2: Preheat your smoker

    When ready to cook, set Traeger temperature to 250°F and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.

    Step 3: Season the green beans

    Put the green beans in a pile on a rimmed baking sheet and pour the melted butter over them. Using tongs, spread the beans out in the pan and season with salt and black pepper.

    Step 4: Smoke the green beans

    Smoke the green beans for 3 hours or until your green bean are tender. Serve while warm and enjoy.

    Optional Step: Make the sauce

    Make the optional sauce by mixing the ingredients together and allow the sauce to chill while the green beans smoke.

    Hint: I like to use a foil pan when smoked for easy clean up!

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 lbs Green Beans
    • ½ cup Butter melted
    • ½ teaspoon Salt
    • ¼ teaspoon Pepper
    • 1 tablespoon Garlic or to taste.

    Optional Sauce Ingredients

    • ½ cup sour cream
    • 3 cloves garlic minced or one tablespoon minced garlic
    • ¼ cup dill weed
    • ¼ teaspoon pepper
    • ½ tsp salt
    Get Recipe Ingredients

    Instructions
     

    • When ready to cook, set smoker temperature to 250°F and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes. Get your beans ready.
    • Put the green beans in a pile on a rimmed baking sheet and pour the melted butter over them. Using tongs, spread the beans out in the pan and season with salt and black pepper.
    • Roast the beans for about 3 hours, stirring and lifting with tongs every 20 minutes or so. The beans should be very tender, shriveled, and lightly browned in places.
    • Transfer to a serving bowl and serve while hot. Enjoy!

    Optional Sauce directions

    • Mix together all sauce ingredients and allow to chill while your green beans are smoking. Drizzle over green beans and serve.
