Can I freeze maple glazed donuts
Yes, you can freeze maple glazed donuts. When freezing, it is best to lay the doughnuts on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet or in an airtight container and place them in the freezer until they are frozen solid before storing them.
Frozen donuts should be placed side-by-side without touching in order to allow them to not stick together during freezing.
I like to freeze my donuts without the glaze. However, freezing with the glaze on will not change your donuts. Maple glaze should freeze just fine.
How do I store maple glazed donuts
To store maple glazed donuts, it is best to place them in an airtight container or wrap them tightly with plastic wrap and then with foil. This way you can keep your donuts away from the air.
Being exposed to air for a long period of time can dry out your donuts. Maple glazed donuts can be stored for up to three days.
How can I warm donuts so they taste fresh again
If you want to warm up your donuts, the best way is in a microwave. For thirty seconds to one minute on high or two minutes on medium power should be fine.
It's important that you do not overheat them because this can leave an unpleasant taste and texture to your donut. You may also use the oven at 300 degrees for five minutes. Be sure to check your donuts for warmth often so that you do not overcook them.
Where can I buy a donut mold
I have several different options to help you find a donut mold. First is Amazon for these silicone or metal donut molds. Both will work and work well.
I love ordering my kitchen supplies on Amazon. One of the best things about shopping on Amazon is that it comes straight to my door.
There is no need for me to get dressed and venture out of the house when it comes right to my home.
Another store to check for a donut mold is some of those big box stores. Even local craft stores can have baking aisles that sell baking supplies like pans and molds.
No matter where you get your mold these donuts will quickly become a favorite treat in your house.
Should I use a silicone or metal donut pan
You can use either pan. If you are looking for a non-stick donut pan, silicone is the way to go. Silicone baking molds will allow your doughnuts to pop right out of the mold with little effort so that they can be enjoyed fresh from the oven!
A metal donut pan will work as well if you want stronger sides and a sturdy pan.
Can I put a silicone mold into the smoker
Yes, silicone molds can be used in a smoker. The only thing to keep in mind when using silicone is that it cannot handle as high temperatures as metal molds. Luckily, this recipe does not require temperature above 440 degrees F.
Will smoking donuts make them crispy
Smoking donuts will not make them crispy. The smoking process is designed to add flavor and color, but it does not change the texture of what's being smoked.
If you like your donuts slightly crispy on the outside I recommend cooking your donuts in the oven instead of the smoker. My family loves how soft the donuts stay when they are cooked in the smoker.
What can I top maple glazed donuts with
There is no need to top these glazed donuts with anything other than the maple glaze.
However, if you want to get really creative, maple glazed donuts can be served with a simple dusting of powdered sugar on them too or serve with some fresh fruit like blueberries, strawberries or apple slices.
Maple syrup is also another option for dipping that you can use on your donuts to add even more maple flavor!
If you feel like getting really adventurous you can top your donuts with smoky cooked bacon pieces or add them to your dough before cooking.
