These chewy and thick chocolate chip M&M cookies are deliciously chocolatey, with plenty of chocolate chips and M&Ms mixed through the dough which adds loads of flavor and pretty pops of color, not to mention that yummy M&M taste and texture.

These cookies are amazing. They never last too long around here. Who can resist M & M's and chocolate chips?
There was the time when an entire batch slowly disappeared off the cooling racks. Patrick and his friends are eating machines. Now at least I know better. I make them when I am home by myself. Double the recipe and freeze ¾ of them.
Then my only problem is if my husband Ken finds them looking for sweets in the freezer. He knows all my tricks! These cookies are definitely worth looking for!
You can use any combination of white or dark chocolate chips to make this recipe but chopped chocolate works great when I am out of chocolate chips. These cookies still tasted fabulous! Chocolate is chocolate after all! Speaking of chocolate, if you have a minute, have a look at our Chocolatey Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies. They are absolutely incredible too!

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Beat on a medium speed until combined, scraping the sides of the bowl with a silicone spatula as necessary.
Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt, and mix on a low speed until just combined and a dough has formed. Use your hands to mix through the chocolate chips and M&Ms.
Use a cookie scoop to scoop the dough onto the baking sheets. Bake for 9-10 minutes, or until just set on the outside but still very soft.
