Strawberry Topping Sauce
- 1 lb fresh strawberries
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried mint
Raspberry Topping Sauce
- 12 oz fresh raspberries
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Board Fillers
- Watermelon slices
- Fresh grapes
- Sliced bananas
- Sliced mango
- Orange slices
- Blood orange slices
- Grapefruit slices
Grease your mini waffle maker with non stick cooking spray.
Mix together waffle mix, milk, oil, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Mix well.
Pour 2 tablespoons of waffle batter into the waffle maker.
Cook each batch of waffles for 3-5 minutes
Until nice and golden brown.
Once your waffles are cooked, begin making your strawberry sauce.
Strawberry Sauce
In a medium saucepan add strawberries,
Add sugar and mint.
Stir over medium heat until well blended.
Bring to a boil for 15-20minutes. Set aside to cool.
Next, make your raspberry sauce.
Raspberry Sauce
Place all of your raspberries inside the saucepan.
In a medium saucepan, combine together raspberries, sugar and lemon juice. Mix until well combined.
Bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
Set aside to cool.
Assemble the Board
Once your waffles and sauce toppings are made, begin to assemble your board.
Start with placing your sauces on the board.
Line both sauce bowls with waffles and connect them in the middle.
In opposite corners of the board, begin placing your orange and grapefruit slices.
Fill the next closest layer with extra strawberries and raspberries.
Lastly fill in the remainder with your watermelon slices, bananas, grapes, and mango slices.
As much or as little of your favorite fruits.
There you have it. Our waffle board.
Serve mini platters with fruit and stacks of waffles. Top waffles with strawberry sauce and raspberry sauce. Optional: pour syrup and/or top with powdered sugar.
