Tim Hortons NHL Hockey Cards are back in restaurants across Canada, and this year's release aims at both casual fans and serious collectors. The 2026-27 set mixes familiar NHL names with new prospects, while adding prizes, trade nights and app-based contests that stretch far beyond the cards themselves.
The new collection has 234 cards

This year's Tim Hortons NHL Hockey Cards set was produced by Upper Deck and includes 234 cards in total. The company says the base cards have been fully redesigned, which gives returning collectors something fresh even before they start chasing the harder pulls.
The set also brings together several layers of collectibility. Alongside standard cards, collectors can look for autographed cards signed by Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon, a signed Timbits card featuring Seth Jarvis, and NHL Signature Jersey Relics cards featuring players like Nick Suzuki.
Tim Hortons also highlighted new insert sets called Next Gen Phenoms and Powerhouse Pillars. Those inserts help define the tone of this release, balancing rising talent with established stars.
New faces join familiar NHL names

One of the biggest storylines in the 2026-27 collection is the debut of rising stars Macklin Celebrini and Matthew Schaefer in Tim Hortons packs. Tim Hortons says both players join long-time partners Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon, along with Brad Marchand, in promoting this year's release.
The company also noted that Schaefer is a Timbits alum, as is Marchand, while Crosby and MacKinnon return as long-time partners. That gives the set a strong youth-to-veteran arc, pairing names that collectors already know with players who represent hockey's next wave.
Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer for Tim Hortons, said opening that first pack each fall is part of hockey season itself. She added that the new set celebrates both the next generation and the legends of today's game.
Golden Prize Cards add major rewards

Some of the most attention-grabbing cards in the release are Golden Prize Cards. According to Tim Hortons, these cards can unlock experiences and prizes that go far beyond traditional collecting.
The headline rewards include a trip for 2 to the 2027 Stanley Cup Final and a 2027 Hyundai KONA. Other listed prizes include a VIP experience for 2 to meet Sidney Crosby at a Pittsburgh Penguins game, a 3-night stay for 2 in Prince Edward Island, MyBauer Custom Hockey Sticks, and a $500 NHLShop.ca Gift Card.
There are also smaller but still appealing rewards such as $50 Sport Chek Gift Cards, $50 Canadian Tire Gift Cards, Sportsnet+ subscriptions, $25 Tim Hortons Gift Cards, and even Tim Hortons coffee, donuts or hockey card packs.
Packs, binders and a ZAMBONI holder

The pricing is straightforward. A pack of Tim Hortons NHL Hockey Cards costs $1.50 with the purchase of a beverage, or $1.99 without a beverage. Tim Hortons notes that prices are plus tax and may vary by region or restaurant.
Collectors who want to organize a full run can buy a special collectible binder for $19.99. New this year, Tim Hortons is also selling a ZAMBONI Hockey Card Holder for $19.99, with capacity for up to 200 cards.
There is also a tie-in for shoppers buying Tims at Home products from select retailers. With eligible purchases, guests can redeem free packs of NHL Hockey Cards in Tim Hortons restaurants while supplies last.
Trade nights turn stores into swap spots

Tim Hortons is again using in-person events to build excitement around the release. Select restaurants across Canada will host Hockey Card Trade Nights on Thursday, Oct. 29 and Thursday, Nov. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m.
These events are designed as casual meetups where fans can trade cards, compare collections and spend time with other collectors over Tim Hortons menu items. For a product tied so closely to community hockey culture, that social angle is part of the appeal.
There is also an exclusive bonus for early arrivals. Tim Hortons says the first 10 guests to arrive at each participating location on either Trade Night will receive an exclusive Trade Night hockey card.
The app challenge returns with more prizes

The card launch is not the only hockey promotion Tim Hortons is running. The Tims NHL Hockey Challenge returns in the Tim Hortons app starting Sept. 29.
According to Tim Hortons, participants have a chance to win Tims Rewards points and can score a prize by keeping a seven-day streak alive. The challenge also includes monthly gift card prizes from Canadian Tire, Sport Chek, DoorDash and Tim Hortons.
At the end of the season, there is also a larger vehicle prize tied to the app promotion. Tim Hortons says entrants will have a chance to win a new Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid as the season-end grand prize, giving fans one more reason to follow along beyond the card packs themselves.
