    Instructions

    • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.  Prepare a rimmed baking sheet with tinfoil and set aside.  Grab one crusty bread of your choice. Cut loaf diagonally, in equal slices, from one end to the other, about 1 ½ inches thick.  Next, cut loaf into slices in the opposite direction diagonally, to create squares that people can pull apart. Do not cut all the way through the loaf of bread.  Leave about 1 inch or less from the bottom. of the loaf.
    • In a large skillet, over medium to medium high heat, cook chopped bacon for a few minutes. Add onions and cook until bacon is crisp and onions are tender and starting to brown. Drain on paper towel and set aside.
    • Place loaf of bread on top of your prepared pan.  Using a brush apply 1 cup melted garlic butter to every crack and crevasse in the crusty bread.  Gently separate cuts in the bread and add melted butter to coat the inside of the loaf. Using your brush, paint garlic butter all over the outside of your loaf as well.   Bake on 350 degrees for 5 minutes.
    • Remove bread from oven and shove cheese into each cut of the loaf of bread up until the half way point. Then add bacon and onions into each slice, on top of the cheese. Add more cheese on top of the bacon and onions. You want to be able to see shredded cheese sticking out from everywhere on your crusty loaf. Sprinkle remaining bacon and onions on top of the loaf and top with remaining cheese. Bake for another 15 minutes. Serve immediately. Pull apart each block of cheesy bread!  You will love it!
