This Jello Cool Whip Pie is the perfect summer treat. Cool and refreshing and packed full of amazing flavor and taste. It's one of those desserts that you're going to crave and want more and more of! Takes less than 25 minutes to get this Jello Cool Whip Pie to get this pie ready.
I love making this Strawberry Jello Cool Whip Pie on a hot summer day. It even works well for 4th of July or Memorial Day. There is no better way to end a long hot day then with a Cool Whip pie with graham cracker crust.
Jello Cool Whip Pie - Mixed Berry Fluff!
Are you looking for a chilled easy pie recipe? Once the hot temperatures of the summer months roll around, this type of dessert is literally all I crave. The more that I can make of this pie, the better. Because when it comes down to it, it's so important to find refreshing treats to keep my taste buds cool, too!
The texture of this simple whipped pie is pretty amazing as well. It's the perfect combination of whipped cream with fluff and it holds its own shape, too.
I've literally been making this simple berry dessert for YEARS and people still ask me for the recipe everywhere I go. And in my opinion, anytime anyone asks you for the recipe, you know you've got a winning recipe on your hands!
Jello Cool Whipped Pie with Fruit
I'm a huge fan of adding fruit to pies. I'm all about that fresh fruit flavor combined with that creamy whipped topping texture. It's a simple way to get that fruity taste without much work, which is something that I'm all about.
If you're looking for a simple 4th of July dessert recipe to share with others, this quick and easy Strawberry Jello Pie is the best. I love the coloring of the pie too as it really just draws in the eye!
Can I use frozen fruit
No, unfortunately frozen fruit will not work well for this recipe. As frozen fruit thaws it tends to release water. The release of water will water your down your Jello Cool Whip pie making it runny and thin instead of allowing your Cool Whip Pie to set up correctly.
Trust me, with this delicious pie you do not want it to become runny. You can leave the fruit out of the pie all together for a creamy treat without chunks in it, if you want something different.

How to make Jello Cool Whip Pie with Fruit
This pie recipe is fun to make and is ready in a jiffy! The longest part of this entire recipe is waiting for it to chill!
Preheat the oven
You're going to have to bake the crust, but that's it. (and if you don't want to make your own crust, you can easily turn this into a no-bake jello pie by buying and using a premade crust as well!)
Dissolve the Jello
You'll find that this step is a lot like making regular jello. Just dissolve and then mix in the whipped topping.
Mix in the berries
Fold them in so that you don't break them down or apart.
Pour into the pie crust
Smooth it so that it's flat and then pop it in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
And that's the gist of it. It's not hard at all to do, right?
Can I make my own graham cracker crust
If you don't have a store bought crust on hand, or you prefer making a homemade crust you can certainly do that. To make your own homemade graham cracker crust just use your favorite graham cracker crust recipe and then fill your crust per the directions below.
Tips for Making This Whipped Topping Berry Pie
Even though you're going to find this recipe very simple to make, there are a few things to keep in mind.
- Be patient in letting the pie set up and chill. It will take several hours for it to firm up and be ready to slice. You don't want to rush this process because if you do, it's not going to hold its shape when you slice it and it'll just all combine and not look as pretty.
- You can add fun fresh berries on top of the pie as well but I would do that at the end after it's had some time to firm up and get a bit more solid.
Fun Additions to Add to This Strawberry Jello Pie
One of the other reasons that I love making this simple pie recipe is that you can really change it up a lot if you want.
Change out the flavor of jello
While I love using strawberry Jello in this pie recipe, you can easily use other types as well. Raspberry would be fun to try, as would lime! Change up the flavor of this pie easily by changing up the flavor of the jello.
Add in different types of fruit
Using fresh fruit is a must because it's just such a fun flavor. Strawberries and blackberries are always good but you can also add in cherries (pitted) and raspberries as well. Even fresh blueberries are good choices!
Keep in mind that some of the berry juice might change the coloring of the pie but that is to be expected. Just do what you can to stir carefully.
Put more whipped cream on top
If you want to give this jello pie a topping, just scoop out some whipped cream and smooth it out over the top. This will have it look like a real pie and be pretty and consistent, too!
Can you freeze whipped cream jello pie for later
You can! If you want to make this recipe and then put it in the freezer for later, do so. Just add it to the appropriate container and pop it in the freezer. This is a simple way to make it ahead of time and enjoy it later down the road.
I also think that freezing this pie gives it an ice cream cake type of texture, too. This is a fun way to change it up in a way that doesn't change up the original flavor or taste.
I've eaten both frozen and chilled in the fridge and I can honestly tell you that they're both delicious and I love them just the same. I just think that it doesn't matter how you want to eat it as much as it does that you just cut yourself a giant slice and enjoy!
Have fun making this delicious jello pie recipe. It's so cool and refreshing and the perfect addition to the summer months. Follow along with the easy directions below to get this recipe started right away!

It's getting sweltering down south here, so this recipe is amazing. I've just been making regular jello instead. Going to test this out tonight 🙂
Just curious if you've tried adding pretzels to the graham cracker crust? I saw that done in the past for cheesecake and I've been obsessed ever since!
Karin and Ken says
Hope you loved this pie as much as we do! Crushed pretzels work great. If you try using them I'd love to hear what you think! Thank you for taking the time to let me know. Take care and all the best. Karin

I made this recipe and it was awful. Like eating rubber. One 6 oz pkg of jello and only 1 cup of water— I knew that couldn’t be good and I was right. We tried to eat it but the disposal just got it. Should there have been more water? or is it suppose to be just one 3 oz pkg of jello?

I apologize for the delay in my response but I remade the recipe for myself and only one box of jello is required. I can’t apologize enough. The entire website had to be copied and pasted manually and unfortunately mistakes were made. I thought we caught them all. Again I am sorry to waste your time. Hopefully you’ll consider making this recipe again. It’s delicious especially when given the correct recipe! Regardless take care and thanks for letting me know. All the best. Karin
